A very calming presence. A magnificent voice. I just finished watching the post of the great Sona Ghazarian sing this number. Hanna Elisabeth's singing of it is just as good. Best of everything to this young singer. Look forward to hearing more from her.

Sona Ghazarian set the standard for me with this aria - that is, until I ran across this rendition by Hanna - Elisabeth Muller. And now it's about the only one play. I love it.!
I used to think that Sona Ghazarian could do this aria better than anyone, then I discovered Hanna- Elisabeth Muller singing this timeless work. It is the best. Hanna-Elisabeth, you are the best. Keep singing and spreading musical cheer to your many fans.

I think I can with confidence, discuss Hanna in conjunction with Leontyne Price, who was the first singer that completely won my heart some 50 years ago. When Hanna sings for us, like Leontyne, we are graced with her whole, complete and lovely self as she shares her spirit, talents and the fruits of her work and study with us, the audience. She holds nothing back and honestly gives not only her best...but her all. I adore her, and there I rest my case!
+Mike Horton: Living close to Munich I meanwhile could attend 12 performances with Hanna-Elisabeth: in roles as Pamina, Gretel, Zerlina, Zdenka, Woglinde, Servilia, Marzelline, Sophie (Werther and Rosenkavalier). All the times she was wonderful and gained the loudest applause! I could talk to her several times at the stage entrance. She is a genial and enchanting young woman, full of enthusiasm, and she transports so much energy to the audience. I pray for her that she never will run out of energy!
I saw Leontyne Price in person - 1960 or 1961 in a concert with the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington, DC, several years before she took the Met by storm.
And she will be singing the Marzelline in Fidelio here in NY next month! What a woman!

Das Orchester spielt aber auch fantastisch, alles harmoniert. Mir gefällt die grantig aussehende ältere Dame an der Solo-Geige - ihr Blick ist das Gegenteil von der Art, wie sie spielt.
Der Text ist eindeutig Monarchie-beeinflusst, interessant der demokratische Ansatz "Du bist der Kaiser, den ich wähle". Sicherlich ein bewusstes Paradoxon von Fritz Grünbaum.
Note on the translation offered by Joe Harkins below: "Sieger" is not "the winner" here. In the given context "victor" is a more appropriate translation. "Du ziehst als Sieger ein" - "you enter (the free state of her heart/soul) as the victor". The whole song uses military metaphors. The idea is that he doesn't have to fight a battle, she is offering him the throne of her "kingdom" built for him by her love - provided, mind you, that he loves her ("Wenn du mich liebst..")
Error in the lyrics above: "In meines Herzens freier Staat" should be "Ist meines Herzens freier Staat" (otherwise it would have to be "freien", but she sings "Ist...")
