Ry said something, John said play play that thing boy, Ry affirmed what he was saying by saying the same phrase differently, then he beautifully resolved. This is pure blues ladies gentlemen, John was master, his deep iconic voice, the dynamics, the groove, he's just hypnotic, and Ry what can I say about him, he's a poet on that thing. Well it doesn't get bluer than this.

I have come off third shift started with a current tune by Mike Campbell & Dirty Knobs. Comment made about a Van Morrison song being ripped off (not commented that way, but, Van you might wanna getta lawyer) led me to Van (and "Them") for song in question "Friday's Child" vs "Irish Girl". That led me to Van Morrison's Out of Exile. Due to duet w/John Lee Hooker that led me to JLH. After listening to a duet w/ JLH & Ry Colder Imma ' bouta switch to RC. SOMBODY STOP ME.

The definition of blues. See also Dark Room. Managed to see John Lee on tour in the UK years ago, with Robert Cray and John Hammond. Seen Ry Cooder a few times as well - but the two together would be something else. Detroits finest bluesman.

Anybody got a regret? The great John Lee performed regularly 20 mikes away in Detroit and I somehow never found the time to go. The real deal is John Lee. And Ry is not too bad, either.

Awesome Ry and John Lee both skilled guitar players with the right feeling. And this is real music - always unplugged and real compared to the synthetic crap we often get served in radio stations.
