  • AFTER SERVICE TACTICS | eBaTT - Tutorial #32
Service tactics, often when you play and serve you fee lost and don't know what to do after a serve. Therefore is vitally important to have a plan when you serve.
    Tip no.1
When you're serving to have a game plan is vital, for example, I want to play my backhand after my serve. I, therefore, will look to serve crosscourt making the angles easier for my opponent to come back crosscourt and making them receive back to my backhand. If I know where I am serving I am able to predict or anticipate a little better.
    Tip 2
Throwing in a fast long serve, this will surprise your opponent and enable you to predict their return. which in return can give you a greater opportunity to execute a positive follow up after the serve. So if you have been serving short crosscourt, then look to serve fast and long down the line, executing a fast action and making the ball bounce as near to you as possible. hopefully, due to unaccepted serve, they will react and give you a ball which is predictable
    Tip 3
Producing a lot of spins and making your opponent return the service where the spin takes it. this is due to force that you have put through the spin and can enable you to predict a return.

Cool video! Very important. I tell my youth that they think about 2 or 3 tactic steps with the serve. It is like chess. Not only one step. Thanks a lot.

Amazing tips, hilarious beginning :D I just wish it didn't become blurry after first half. Please do a video about forehand loop against backspin, yours is amazing!

This is a good point to make, too many times I serve without a plan. I should be serving and forcing the player one way or another and capitalize on this. good video :)

Tnx a lot Eli, very helpful, sometimes in matches we have situations when you have to win the point surely (like 9-10 on your serve), and these tactics could really help to overcome your opponent

Hello coach, thank you for your great videos, i want to ask a common question and have a confuse about it please.
if the ball touch my finger or hand which grip the racket during a rally, is this a fault and my opponent get that point or not ??

Your haven’t change your serves for almost 10 years. I watched you playing in a competition on CZcams and that video was posted 10 years ago. And your serves before and your serves now are the same :)

Thanks coach, following your videos helped to improve my game. can you recommend good rubbers for forehand and backhand on timo boll alc for attack style. With so many in the market it is difficult to choose one. Im using stiga DNA pro h on Forehand and joola rhyzm-p on BH. Before this I used rasamter r47 on FH and MXp on BH

That curious guy, standing in the side of the table, as he was invited, looking silly happy curious, knowledge thirsty, what, what is the deal with him? Is he part of the background?
