*IMPORTANT UPDATE* One thing I just became aware of is that this particular batter has a 500 amp class T fuse INSIDE of it with an AIC rating of 50k. That's a game changer and something I have never seen before. Please go see Ben Stein's video over at Panbo channel to watch his teardown of this battery.
This is a video covering the basic hook up of the Epoch 460AH Lifepo4 battery with Victron V2 protocol. This allows the Epoch battery internal BMS to dictate charge control of the CerboGX/Multiplus II for a seamless and simple hook up. Using a high quality battery with the Victron V2 protocol is a huge time saver and takes much of the guess work out and eliminates tweaking and monitoring over time.

Whoa...those batteries are amazing! Power, compact, lightweight, and much more affordable. They are going on my list for my upcoming Trawler project.

  • @lenalessi3824

I'm looking forward to reworking my dc system with the 300 ah battery. Great episode!

My two 460’s arrived last week, they are going into a fifth wheel RV replacing four 100 amp hour BattleBorns. When the budget allows I plan on getting two more.

  • @braxenaeurasiers

You just saved me from buying 4 BB gamechanges for over 10k for only 1080 amps and 4 huge batteries, these Epoch are 6000 for only 3 batteries and 1380 amps for my van, WAY COOL!!!! Saving space, weight and money win win win!!! WOO HOOOO!!

  • @tedboender

  • @ACsailing

    Great video. Thank you.

  • @LeighAnderson-mr

For us epoch 300Ah v2 folks you can hook up 2 batteries for Cerbo with 2 regular ethernet cables 1. vecan Cerbo set to 500kb and 2. other battery to vecanbms on Cerbo.

  • @LittleCunningPlan

Thanks for this video. I bought two of these batteries for our sailboat back in November and they are amazing. I am in the process of hooking them up to a new Cerbo GX module and was not aware that they could be chained with the short cable you showed. I am in Mexico and so can't get the Epoch cable but I am hoping a I can build one. Hopefully Epoch will send me the Pinout diagram. Your work is much appreciated.

great video, thanks for sharing. I havnt hooked up my 300AH battery yet but would have been confused if the errors start showing up.

  • @MacMcCabe2456

Left a message on one of your other bit about connecting the Renogy battery monitor up on a early EZGO Marathon with the 36 volt Epoch. I'm seeming to be having a issue. Thanks for any help. Mike C

I have just installed the same set up for my boat. I've watched your videos a number of times and found them to be extremely helpful. I'm bench testing now and it seems to be inverting and charging perfectly. The one glitch I've run across is that the battery and Cerbo (newest version) don't show up on the Device List of the Touch Screen. I've triple checked all my connections without success. It's starting become a real head scratcher. Did you happen to run into this ... any thoughts? Thanks ...

  • @BucketList2

Thanks for the video. I'm planning on installing this same set up on my boat soon.Question ... When batteries are hooked in parallel as you have, do you need both remote battery indicators and on/off buttons installed or will just one of each do their respective functions representing both batteries.

  • @nelsondube295

I would like you to show us the position of the DIP switches, for one batterie?

  • @HeidiandFranny

Thanks so much for sharing all your work on this. Do you think these could be configured as 2S2P? I've read that they would work but the communications might not work properly. Your thoughts? Thanks! Franny
