Great video its just a pity about the product. I bought this about 18 months ago and tested on my vehicle. Yes it does what it says on the tin. I then had a customer with a wiring problem. Got the tool out and did some testing. NOTHING HAPPENED ! The tool was dead. After I completed the repair without using the Sigmaprobe I took it home and took it apart. Firstly the internal electronics were poor quality. Secondly I found that when you put the supplied probe into the device it can touch some connections inside which are for testing at the factory and for upgrades. The probe had probable shorted these out so I did a bit of adjustments and used some electrical tape to stop it happening again. It worked, partially, the tool now works again except the start up mode for volts and resistance does not work. Its been in my parts bin ever since as its not something I can trust. Yes I contacted the seller and am still waiting for a reply. Buyer beware.!

Hi love your channel that tool got my attention It got a pptc fuse indside so you have to wait until it cools down and then it reset by itself the time to wait for it to reset depends on the amount of current that was applied to it ,the thing is that like you just said the cable of the tool is too thin i think is like 14 gauge the thing is that it reset after like 5 or more seconds of full current output ,so the breaker dont trip immediately after it overcomes the current set point thats the issue ,keep doing well God bless you

Good review Mario. I suppose if it’s priced at a low level comparatively, it would be an ok addition to someone’s kit if they needed this type of tool but could not afford a Snap on or Power Probe version. That said it’s certainly not a better tool. Appreciate the honest take.

  • @tsl7881
    @tsl7881 Před 25 dny

I got a TopDiag about a year ago(maybe from the same factory) and the adjustable current settings work. That said, it feels like HF quality and price. It is supposed to supply 18A, but it seems to give out at around 15.5A. It flashes a overcurrent message, please increase the limit and if you are supplying near the limit for more that a couple of minutes , it flashes a thermal overload warning.
I believes you got a dud. The poowerprobe is using an electronic sensing circuit too for current, it would be great if these had a master circuit breaker ( I believe the original powerprobe used a 10A breaker) or slow blow fuse to make them safer. Yes, there is a fuse on the ground line of these because that is not monitored by the internal current detection (that didn't work on yours). The one you got was a non starter, sort of a horse with a broken leg race. I see review videos where they were shipped a dud tool, how embarrassing, it shouldn't but does happen when they don't have good quality control.

Positive side: They make it easy, you expect a problem, now you actually have one caused by their product. Just buy the new sensor or computer.

Mario, thank you very much for your sincere comments, we need your real usage comments very much, it can let us understand the users' needs; it can also guide our product upgrade and development ideas and directions.
We are sorry that our mistake caused this low-level error to happen. Since the product has been shipped to the FBA warehouse or the nearest warehouse to your shipping address, we did not do the upgrade in time before shipping, and we did not notify you to update the software in time, which caused you not so smooth in the review process.
Before the software version V22 cut off the current for a long time, so it is also easy to lead to the problem of excessive current burned host parts, for this problem, in fact, we have done the upgrade optimization in the version after V22, which can effectively control the problem of cutting off the current.
For devices where such failures have occurred
    1. first confirm whether the device components are burned because of excessive current, if there is burned need to first replace the burned components, and then upgrade to the latest software version, the machine can resume normal operation.
    2. If the components are not burned because of excessive current, you only need to upgrade the new version of the software can be solved.
Currently, our program has been upgraded to V25, you can download the update through our download link, the upgrade is also very simple, you can operate by watching the upgrade instruction video inside the download package: mega.nz/folder/P6BBlQ4Q#z09OmxlRr_R2t75kOc4ipw
We apologize again for the bad review experience caused by our work mistake.
In addition, one of our colleagues will contact you to assist you in resolving this fault.

I opened it up, even though i shouldn't have to, and found no burnt components. But i do believe that the relay isn't working.
Please understand, although we technicians fix things daily, the functionality of the tool is the responsibility of the manufacturer, within its warranty period.
So, not every technician has soldering skills and the ability to diagnose electronics.
What we want is a company that will stand by their product, and fix their own issues rather than technicians buying tools that they'll need to repair themselves.
When we buy tools locally, and it fails, we hand it back to the seller and either they repair it or replace it. Simple as that

The better reply from the manufacturer here (sigmaprobe) would be to offer to ship a replacement product immediately overnight along with a prepaid shipping label to return the defective/failed product. The manufacturer should want the product back to verify the root cause of the failure so it can be addressed. If the failure cause is already known, then the products should be pulled from the shelves, updated, then sent back out for distribution. Manufacturers need to understand that this kind of response is putting the responsibility on the CUSTOMER as opposed to taking that responsibility themselves. Customer service responsiveness and taking ownership of mistakes is what I expect from a manufacturer and unfortunately this response is very much a lesson in what NOT to do.

This tool is junk. Another independent reviewer has a great video on this tool and all of its cheaper knockoffs. Phantom voltage readings, the oscilloscope took down the CAN bus on a few vehicles being diagnosed. Don't waste your money.

@@SuperMarioDiagnostics My apologize my friend. I didn't get far enough in to the video (edit made). You certainly proved what the other video proved; it's junk.
