- Over 300 people have been injured in violence-hit Haldwani in Uttarakhand as locals hurled stones and petrol bombs at municipal workers and police over the demolition of an illegal madrasa. "It was dark and many of our women personnel hid inside the homes of the locals. The police force later got us out," said a woman police official, recalling the horrors of the attack. Listen in.
