Shields outworked Marshall and beat her with speed and more accurate punches. Power was not the deciding factor..as I stated awhile ago. Why are her fans deleting their comments? Own your words. No excuses. Remember? Marshall fought hard and lost. Both of them were gassed out towards the end, but Shields had a bit more in the tank, winning the majority of the 50/50 exchanges, outworking her with faster more accurate punches, even off the ropes. Great fight for women's boxing.

I don’t delete anything, I’ll hold my hands up, my expectation was that Shields would throw everything at Marshall from the opening bell, and to dominate the action with her speed, accuracy and variety of punches, but I didn’t expect Marshall to be so overwhelmed by it and I didn’t expect that Shields would be able to sustain it throughout most of the fight. I expected things to turn in Marshall’s favour later on, and to be fair she did a little better towards the end, but it was too little too late. Obviously a great win for Shields, and some lessons for Marshall but I’m not sure there’s much else she could have done against the speed and accuracy of Shields.

I expected Marshall to take rounds 7 and 8. But to really cement her dominance I wanted to see Shields have two big final rounds.
