    Wondering why you didn't go with the NSV light bar that is designed to mount inside the plastic hood bulge. I didn't have to cut any metal on the truck, it literally takes the place of the black plastic inset you removed.

      This was given to me as a gift, so I installed it.

    do you have problems with the hood bulge popping out during the freeway drive? is it rusting inside the hood now? now that its open?

    • @4dot
      @4dot  Před 2 lety +3

      I have not had any problems with the chrome hood bulge piece popping out or a rusting issue. You should not have an issue with rusting, from what I remember, it is all painted inside the bulge. The only exposed metal is where the braces are cut and I don't remember the insert piece (that was removed) being a true seal anyway.
      After doing it I was more concerned about the chrome hood bulge piece breaking because there is no support, in the middle, since the insert piece is removed. But I have not had a problem with that either. I have toyed with the idea of cutting the back off the insert piece and reinstalling it in front of the light bar to support the hood bulge. But that would hide the light bar and I think it looks really good how it is.
      Let me know if you have any other questions. You should check out my video on putting LED lights in the bed. Those are super useful and a must have in my opinion. Thanks for watching

    Can u show me a close up pic of the mounting brackets or which direction there supposed to be turned. Can this light bar be mounted to bottom of hood versus using tape where pins were

    • @4dot
      @4dot  Před rokem +1

      I can but it will be a little bit before I can get it. Just didn't want you to think I am ignoring you.

      I added a short video of a close up of the bracket to my channel. I don't think you would be able to attach the light to the bottom. Not saying you couldn't, but you would have to have different brackets and then you would have to see if there is room for a bolt head or nut that would prevent the hood from shutting.

    Could have simply cut off the switch and spliced it into your headlight wiring which is very easy. Then it's cleaner and you don't have to mess with getting it through the firewall into the cab. It would come on when your headlights came on.

    • @4dot
      @4dot  Před 2 lety

      Yes, that's an option as well. I wanted it completely independent of the headlights though. Thanks for throwing that out there as an option.

      ita illegal to run those lights on while driving they are above the headlights. so no you dont want it on with the headlights

    Can you install the black grill back over it?

    • @4dot
      @4dot  Před rokem

      I can't remember to be honest with you. That was my original intention but I did not do it. I can't remember if it was because you can't or because it would take major modifications to the black grill to make it work. I think I didn't want to ruin the grill in case I ever needed to remove the light bar and put it back to original

    Does the bar stay on always

    • @4dot
      @4dot  Před 2 lety

      Once the switch is pushed to turn it on, YES. It is wired to constant power so it will stay on even when the key is in the OFF position.
      Does that answer your question?

    • @Siahboiii808
      @Siahboiii808 Před 2 lety

      Yes it does answer my question. Did u have any power problems. Kinda worried it might kill my battery. Is there any way to have it only stay on with ignition?

    • @4dot
      @4dot  Před 2 lety +1

      @@Siahboiii808 I have not had any problems but I have not used it with my truck turned off. You could definitely wire it to "keyed power" to be safe. There are a couple options you could take. I would recommend you find someone knowledgeable with circuits or scour the Internet and do looking. The information is out there.

    • @4dot

      It came from IJDMTOY.com. I did not buy it, my wife bought it for me so I'm not sure what model it is. You should be able to search your vehicle and have it show up. Is that what you mean?

      It looks like it's $180 on their website. I don't know if you can get it anywhere else like Amazon though. My wife got this for me as a gift. Here is the website though, store.ijdmtoy.com/products/led-lightbar-kit-35-965.

      Absolutely no excuse for a company to sell a product like that and not supply every single needed component.

    • @4dot
      @4dot  Před 2 lety

      @@ellobo1326 it is very frustrating, I agree. The plastic packaging of hardware inside the box was partially torn open. So they may have included everything but it had fallen out at some point in shipping. Either way very disappointing.
