Agree re shocks. Got Bird's shocks and springs on mine along with an LSD. Absollutely transforms the car.
I need to look under mine as its handling slot better than the usual M140, I bought the car 'stock' to later find out it had double res delete, so not sure if anything else done

I’ve had mine for a year, agree with all you say I love it but the bouncy suspension really is a downside. It’s the shocks, if you replace those with bilstein B8s you will see the difference. You won’t be bouncing all over the place. The car won’t feel so unsettled, “Roadreg” did a comparison video driving on the same road before and after new shocks. You’ll be shocked 😳
the B8s set are around 600 plus fitting or you could consider going for coilovers. They are around 800-900 depending on brand but give you far more adjustability.
Its something il definitely be looking at down the line. Along a smooth road i cannot fault it but those bumpy roads are a pain.
BMW gave it a great engine and great transmission then wrapped it up in a 118i with rubbish suspension and chassis and a open diff now I've put underbody brace lowering springs spaces upgraded subframe bushings front control arm bushings front strut brace M performance LSD bilstein shock absorbers and guess what the handling is still shit sonoma what you do to these cars is never going to be good it's just the way it's been built from the ground up. Upgraded my discs and pads and bleed the brakes and there still shit.
Shame there isn't any improvement with everything you've done
@@GazButler there is a improvement from stock with m performance LSD and bilstein b8 &. H&R springs but it's not day and night like a lot of people say
@@Yhyujss being honest mine as it is hasn't been bad, that being said as its my second car if it's heavy raining or really wet out I don't take the car out, its only ever 'stepped out' 2 or 3 times in dry but nothing unmanageable... having a sligh problem with the car at minute which il hopefully fix tomorrow and if I do il have a video up about it 🙃

Its got an exhaust rattle, when I've looked at it the exhaust valve actuator clip (fixing bow as BMW call it) has snapped... after trying to fit a new clip I've come to realise the actuator slipped out of line which snapped the clip and is near impossible to refit the clip. I've bodged it temporarily to stop the rattle (valve constantly open, defo louder lol). New actuator should come tomorrow from BMW which was slighter cheaper than 2nd hand ones just hope its right as part number different but they say it fits so il be under it fitting that after work tomorrow
