    Hi Guys,
It is royal...to read and envision all the treasured times that American 60's Music Lovers Lived At Those Times. We here in Canada did not have the opportunity to do so. Oh...we had some unique garage/rock tunes...but, nothing close to what I've now heard thanks to You Tube. I will end it by saying.
I Would Love To Be In The Party Setting When This 45 Is Spinning. Don't be surprised if you see me twitchin' & a-twirling. Thanks.

This was a local hit in Minneapolis-St. Paul in the summer of '64.

I like the "Underbeats" Shake it for me and Annie do the dog, hilarious title but great song.

How about the Bel-Ray ballroom, Schlief's Little City or the Safari club in mid 60's. Or the amusement park in Excelsior, Roadside in Roseville or shooting the loop in St. Paul. I was there every night in my blue 66 GTO..389 and a six pack only way to go vroooooom

Always loved the way he brought up the tremolo with the Leslie on the solo.

If I recall correctly, I saw these guys play this at the Columbia Heights Field House back in the early 60s. I had a lousy little band myself for a couple years then. Unfortunately, an accident put an end to that.

My old man used to rip this up in his day.

A great Twin Cities classic indeed!

Yessss! Thanks for putting this one up. I sat there at our old upright piano til I learned to play it in every key. Most kids' moms forced them to practice. Mine would take it as long as she could, then made me stop. (g) Can't blame her...you ever hear a 45-minute version of this tune?

It's all good. Thinking about it, they all are known to succeeding generations for their biggest hit. LTGTR is the Delcounts.' But some of the more obscure stuff, remembered only by codgers such as ourselves, was just as good. The Castaways' "Goodbye Babe."
The Trashmen's "Bad News"...what a riff! Around '67 I was at an Avanties' show, and asked Greg to play "The Slide." He just shook his head and said people wanted to hear covers of what was happening then, not the old tunes.

Sounds like a Hammond on the recording, but my recollection is of Greg playing a Farfisa out in the clubs in the early days. You could tell the difference, but it was still great. BTW, would you consider putting up "The Slide?"

So, I was in Minneapolis and you were in Mtka. way back when. Where are you now?

Rumor around the Twin Cities back in the day had it that the producer of the record grabbed a bunch on kids from Thomas Beach at LakeCcalhoun and brought them into the studio for the background crowd noise.

I believe they were classmates from Washburn High School. (His sister told me)
