    Sir,
    I am pleased by your clarity in speech and experience in rose growing. I am living in Chennai where the climate is not suitable for growing rose plants. What should I do?
    May I know where you are growing your Roses ?
    Please guide me.

      @Thilak Kumar Kalluru, Thank you so much for your words, really means a lot to me :-) I know temperature in Chennai is quite high. But, I still believe that you can grow the local Rose plats (Desi one) and not the hybrid variety. Hybrid variety (mostly known as English Rose) doesn't prefer hot climate. Also, there are many other flowering plants that do quite well in hot temperature, such as - Allamanda, Adenium, Tibouchina Semidecandra, Lagerstroemia Speciosa, Euphorbia Milii, Canna lily etc. I have list of 25 summer flowering plants and if you like, you can watch it here - czcams.com/video/dL4-hmBXpD8/video.html I am going to add some more as we have plenty of plants that we can grow in Summer.
      I am from Guwahati and in summer it's quite hot here as well. Last year it went above 37°C. If you have any questions, plz let me know and I would try my best to help you. Thank you :-)

Also, plz use SAAF fungicide - Dose - 2 grams (1/2 teaspoon) in 1 liter water and spray twice in a gap of 7 days. Then fertilize and your plant should be back :-) Good luck :-)

      @Milly Manuel, Honestly saying, it's really hard to find a true alternative for Mustard cake powder, specially when I want to use only organic fertilizer. But still, you can always apply composted cow dung manure to your plants. Honestly saying, none can beat the real composted cow dung manure, even Vermicompost. But problem is, we don't get it in city as in cities cows rarely eat grass. If you don't have any issue with using Chemical fertilizer, then plz watch this video - czcams.com/video/u4TCSVYq4FU/video.html Here also, I have shown everything with result, thank you :-)

    Hi! Nice video! May I ask, how do rose sellers get big blooms on newly planted hybrid tea roses? Do they use foliar fertilizer? And may I ask, what kind? Thank you very much! -from the Philippines

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 4 lety

      @raymund santos, thank you for your question. I believe you are talking about the nurseries. If you look at closely, this doesn't happen in all the Rose cuttings. Few plants are going to have bigger blooms and this happens because of the quality of the mother plant from where they took the buds. And YES, definitely they use foliar fertilizer + growth hormones. In my place, most of the nurseries use just normal NPK 19-19-19 (5 grams in 1 liter water). If you have any questions, plz let me know. Thank you once again for watching my video from Philippines :-)

      @@GardeningUpbeat thank you, so that's how they manage to make it bloom even if it has only a few roots! Another question? can you use fertilizer granules or urea dissolved in water as foliar fertilizer? And how often would you apply it?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 4 lety

      @raymund santos, Most welcome :-) You can definitely use granular fertilizer the similar way or just sprinkle on the surface. How often - Different fertilizer has different requirement and for dose and frequency, plz refer the manufacturer guidelines (often written on the packaging box). But ideally, we should try to fertilize our Rose plants at least once in 30 days :-) For UREA - Normally I don't use as source of Nitrogen (46) is too high in UREA. If applied wrongly, plant would die immediately. For foilar spray, you can take just 1/2 teaspoon in 1 liter water and can be applied once a week or in 15 days.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 4 lety +1

      @Soumen Mondal, if you have recently repoted your plant, then you can apply almost after 15-20 days considering you used good potting soil mix. Or else, you can apply at anytime (Once in 30-40 days). Plz let me know if you have any questions, thank you :-)

    can we keep rose plant in open terrace with more sun light

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  Před 4 lety

      @neethiin udhayam, Can...but there are few difficulties we would get because of high temp in Summer like - leaf n petals burn, the size of the flowers would get decreased, color would get fade etc. You might need to water twice depending on how hot in your place is. Misting the plants may be needed as well but this might cause fungal disease as well. Very soon I would upload one video about Summer Rose care. Greenhouse is the best place or few hours of morning Sun, not Mida-day or afternoon direct Sun.
