    Very simple instructions! Very nice job Wade! I am one of those that struggles with knots. This is the best explanation on these knots that covers most every in the bush. Thanks aga and be safe!!⛺️🚣🏼‍♀️

      @@Woodswalker1965 Yes, I absolutely would! As I said, you did the best I’ve seen in illustrating and simplifying the explanation for a simple guy. 🤠

      Wade if you do another knot video you should include an alpine butterfly. It's an excellent mid line loop that's completely secure and easy to tie and untie. Truckers hitch is another one I use alot to apply a lot of tension. Zeppelin or Rosenthal bend is a very secure knot for joining 2 ropes.
      Just some suggestions.

    • @Woodswalker1965
      @Woodswalker1965  Před 2 lety

      Excellent suggestions, I will of course do the Truckers Hitch and the ever so elegant Alpine Butterfly! Cheers!

  • @bucknash

    You're talking my jam here Wade. I'm a knot enthusiast and 3 of those are my most used knots. Bowline taut line hitch and Canadian jam.
    I like the bowline knot cause it's secure and you can tie it with one hand if you know the trick.
    I use the taut line hitch probably more than any knot but I use the Ashley modification to that knot which just like the way that you showed except you cross the second inside loop over the first. It makes it much more secure. I'll add another taut line hitch for jobs that need fool proof security like hanging my hammock. It eliminates the need to carry hammock "bling" if you know a few good knots.

    This was terrific ! Like fishing you have to know multiple knots , just a fact. The bowline kinda like a flemish or loop knot for fishing , rapala used to include the instructions on the loop knot , important it was printed on waterproof paper. Neat video !

      Taut line hitch is my most used knot. Except I cross the second inside loop over the first then do my outside loop. It makes it much more secure.

      @@Woodswalker1965 I did notice that. So much easier having your pack at a comfortable height on a tree in order to get your gear out.....I'm seriously thinking about buying one of the Firebox Gen 2 steel 5" stoves possibly the Master kit. I do mostly backpacking trips. Some of my shorter day hikes or kayaking days where weight is not an issue I think this may be a good kit. I have some titanium gear for backpacking but I think this kit in titanium is too pricey for me now. I also have no shortage in my stove collection. Do you think it is too heavy for backpacking? I'll check your vid list as I think you did a big video about this a while ago......Take care, Bluefin.

      I have carried the SS Firebox on day hikes. Not sure I would carry it on a multi day backpacking trip though, a canoe trip possibly. It's a versatile piece of kit👍

    Can’t say these knots aren’t useful, but I always find it interesting that you can bring ten bushcrafters together with the same challenges and they’ll each use a different set of favorite knots to solve it. Some overlap sure, but different nonetheless.
    The toggle is the pro-tip that many either don’t use, or don’t use enough, however.
