DJ Dan // Sun & Stone 2022 Widow Jane Mine, Rosendale, New York Event Produced by The Seed Underground, Solar Dawn Productions & Extraordinary Entertainment A Noisemaker Media Production Filmed & Edited by Kuryente
Been listening to him since 94 when he started coming up to Toronto to play DOSE’s outrageously sensational, raves. Dan regularly destroyed Spaces up here in Toronto. Easily one of the best in the worlld . Sublimely skilled. Phenomenal taste, Sorcerer like programming. I’ve seen him have crowds where we didn’t know whether to dance or climb the fucking speakers. STILL THE BEST!❤️ Call me a nostalgic old fucker, but no one out there right now. Turns the room upside down like Dan.
Awesome! Everybody's dancing, nobody is holding up their smart phone recording video, no flames are shooting out of the stage, no CO2 smoke is blasting into the crowd, DJ Dan is not jumping up and down on the deck table or throwing cake at people in the crowd - he is just doing his job up there mixing a great set. Perfect, great 90's style vibe!
Dan is still the best. Coming up on three decades of enjoyment since I was 16. Literally everyone I've ever played some "Beats4Freaks," or "Funk the System" instantly has become a solid Dan fan on the spot. Lucky finding this set right here and now. LONG LIVE THAT ZIPPER TRACK!!! (my younger producer friends often say they got to live in the 1990's because of tracks like this one.)
First saw Dan in Houston TX 2000..... ran into him in the bathroom before the show . And the absolute nicest and down-to-earth human. From 2000 to 2024. The same Dan. The GOAT
This is the most complete brilliant set I’ve heard in decades!!! This was why I got into DJing. There not all his tracks. He’s giving you a wave to ride and dance to! This is a MASTER CLASS so pay attention. It was never about fame or money. We were the counter culture. It was the music, the vibe, the energy, THE HAPPINESS! Does anyone experience that now? Don’t worry I’ll wait…. $80 min for Swiftie tix. Give me a break. No lyrics no problem. A higher level of consciousness YES PLEASE ❤🎉😊
Dj Dan is one of the rare artists to span so many different genres over his career and do it seamlessly. He started out playing funky old skool breaks even mixing in James Brown Trax. He would play some house with his breaks. Progressed to Funky House but always had some breaks in the back of his mind to throw in. He also had some witty scratches to add character. Back when he was part of Funky Tekno Tribe along with excellent DJ's like Graeme, Daemon, Tony Hewitt. They were a force to reckon with. Their name fit perfectly for their unique styles. It was Funky & Tekno & An obvious Tribe. Absolutely amazing early influences of mine.
This whole scene, the vibe, and the music take me back to the 90s rave era! DJ Dan will always be my favorite dj! Xoxo everything about this is chefs kiss 🤌
Thank you Dj Dan for everything over the last 25 plus years. From DTLA to the raves in the mountains in the summer. We don't deserve you, but always grateful for everything : )
Whenever you see a 20 something dj on stage, dancing all over the place and making it look easy, realize its not bc they're technical geniuses. Here's a technical genius in action that's been doing it for 3+ decades, and he's focused af.
Nobody has been dropping fire mixes longer. The 👑 of edm DJ Dan. Amazing set lists, flawless unique creative transitions, and a true underground feel to every mix.
Hey it's Mikey from back when you and dj yeno did a lot nice giggs that was when or still is a very good friend Mike day from thrasher magazine ps spinnninzzzzzzzzz
For those into House…DJ Dan is where it’s at! Syl and I are greatly thankful we had him in the early 90’s in LA!!! And stoked he is still at it!!! We saw him 4 weeks ago out here in Tucson!!!! Dan’s beats are super fun! Too bad there wasn’t a afterhours! NoDoze anyone? Haha
First ever rave I went to in 95 was in SF at the end of Haight where Amoeba is now. It was a bowling alley back then called Park and Bowl. They did a mid-week rave there and called it Pack a Bowl. Back then, weed was still very counter culture, and to have a party flaunting weed use was inherently naughty and subversive in a civil disobedience kind of way. The best kind of civil disobedience! I was introduced to raves and E that night for the first time from a dear friend I was also in love with. DJ Dan was spinning. I was getting hypnotized by the beats before the E kicked in. Once that started, it felt like the music was trying to have sex with me, that's the best way to describe it. I got to meet DJ Dan. We smoked weed. Coming from the punk rock/ band scene I really liked that the DJ was so accessible and humble. I was hooked. I've been a DJ now, 24 years and counting, but I'll never lay a finger on the talent and skill that DJ Dan has. Much love from Spokane Washington.
Yeah, he doesn't fuck with shitty music. That's his blessing and his curse. This hardstyle, dubstep bullshit with no rhythm and no funk that you can't even bob your head to, let alone dance is fucking awful. The fact that shit like that even has a place in a category called Electronic DANCE Music is a total fucking mystery to me. DJ Dan is a million times better than anyone who fucks with that bullshit
It’s only I think because he’s not branding himself now days … he’s a true legend but these lesser djs are overpowering the true masters because they make a brand for themselves
Good to see Dj Dan still doing his thing! Guy is an absolute legend
I can't believe he's still going. I used to rock with him back in the 90's lol
Off the hook!!
Ya me to
