    I am thankful every day that I was born in this beautiful, peaceful and safe country. I have travelled overseas and am always so happy to come home, and once even left my sister and nephews in Honolulu early after a long trip so that my son and I could fly home (it was her birthday too). So homesick. I could never live anywhere else. Our standard of living, our work life balance, no toxic bosses ever. Oh how lucky we are! ❤️

      Actually they were used by afghans for freight movement in the outback. When they moved over to trucks they were released - not that many of them, but a good environment for them with no predators they bred up numbers rapidly. On the best were originally brought over, so aussie camels are superior to most middle eastern camels.

    I Am Australian - The Seekers

Australia is a large country and has a coverage of some 7.2 million square km, whereas Spain is some 500,000 sq.km., so Australia is nearly 15 times that of Spain. I’m just relaying these figures for you to comprehend the size of our beautiful country. We are probably the most multicultural country worldwide and have a vast array of varying landscapes and sporting activities. Australia is world class in many sporting genres despite having a population of only 27 million ( approx )

    Australia is only 6% arable and gets more snow on the highlands in Winter than Switzerland. Around 300 ethnicities and the majority of us live close to the coast. There is a huge variety of cuisines and wine grapes are grown all over Australia. Your chances of encountering a dangerous creature are remote and you are never going to see all of Australia in a couple of weeks. Also when planning a trip, bear in mind that our seasons are the opposite to the Northern Hemisphere and the further north you travel in Australia you can forget 4 seasons because it is so tropical there are two seasons, the “Wet” season and the “Dry” season. Basically, when it starts to cool down in the South of Australia it stays warm and becomes dry in the North and the Hot dry Summer season down South swaps to a very hot, humid wet season in the North. I hope you make it to Australia.

    Australia is about 15 times bigger than Spain. Spain is approximately 505,370 sq km, while Australia is approximately 7,741,220 sq km. Europe will fit into Australia. It is no wonder we have such a diverse landscape. Because Australia is a country, and is considered both an island and a continent, most visitors have no idea as to how big we actually are, even Americans... And their country is a little larger than ours. Then too visitors hear that our population is only about 27million (for this vast space) ... they assume that the land is smaller than it actually is.

    Australia exports more wild camels and wild goats than any other country, and has more skiable snow in season than Switzerland. You don't just "see" Australia, most of the best spots are kept by locals to themselves, for instance country Victoria has astounding unmarked things only kilometres apart, no matter how many years I have been going there I haven't seen half, in fact I have wandered Australia for 60 years and have probably not seen one thousandth of it. It is big, the same size as the continental United States, but it's a very different kind of vast. When you say "seeing " Australia think of just this, Australia has nearly 14000 beaches and if you visit one beach a day which is an impossibility (unless you have a teleportation machine), it would still take you 35 years to see them all. Close to no-one in Australia would have seen those sights from that drone perspective. Even a helicopter would be so expensive and time consuming.
    The vast distances and high costs make it difficult to fit more than a tiny bit of those sights in and the probably from a less impressive ground level.

    Australia now has the largest population of wild camels of any country in the world. They are feral, generally classed as a pest, and are creating a lot of environmental damage to some of the inland regions of Australia as they are an introduced species that the land and the native animals have not evolved to live in harmony with. Australia does not have any native species that has hoofs or hooves, and camels being large hoofed creatures will in large numbers rapidly destroy delicate inland ecosystems. Unfortunately because they inhabit such remote areas it is not generally economical to control their numbers by culling them for their meat. A very small number of camels are caught or bred for the tourist industry, and some camel dairies have been established for producing camel dairy products for food and beauty products but camel milk is very expensive, perhaps up to ten times the price of cow's milk.

      There used to be some stations that had meat processing for camels , the main buyers were aboriginal communities was shut down by the government years ago.
      Most of the damage they do is due to destroying water sources.

    Our country is much bigger than Europe, but our population is only about 25 to 30 million.

      No, Europe is bigger. Europe is about 1.3 times bigger than Australia. Australia is approximately 7,741,220 sq km, while Europe is approximately 10,180,000 sq km, making Europe 32% larger than Australia.

      If you include the west of Russia, the Balkan and North seas, parts of the Mediterranean Sea and some Turkey, then yes, Europe is bigger.
      If you leave out Russia , then Australia is bigger than Europe including all the British Isles , parts of Scandinavia and the seas in-between and a small part of Turkey.
      To my knowledge the EURO economic union includes countries NOT in Europe, such as Britain and Ireland, as well as Scandinavian countries.

    • @namewithheldbygoogleforsec673
      @namewithheldbygoogleforsec673 Před 24 dny

      @@Rassskle incorrect, Australia is bigger only if Russia's European portion is excluded, but it IS included in Europe so Europe is bigger. And when was the mapping size of Europe last counted? Because for many years world maps showed Greenland to be bigger than Australia due to the type of mapping procedure, which turned out to be quite inaccurate.
      The UK is still part of Europe just not part of the European Union.

    • @Rassskle
      @Rassskle Před 24 dny

      For a long time Russia wanted to be part of Europe, but was always officially considered to be an Asian country.
      Check the comparison maps in Google.......or let's include all Australian Territories , Islands, New Zealand, The South Pole and all territorial waters .
      England and Gt. Britain have never been accepted as Europian, Scandinavia is Scandinavia and Russia is officially Asian.
      Europe starts on the west coast, Spain, France, Belgium and the Balkan countries up to and including Estonia.
      In the East it includes Poland and Bulgaria.....then you have the Eurasian countries known sometimes as Eastern Europe as well as the Ukraine and other countries claimed by Russia.
