Was it over 200 dollars when you got it? If so, you should have waited until now to get that set because it's on sale for less then that and it's getting a re-release soon!
@@MADFLIXandGames Yep, in August. However, it's a repackaged release. The good news is, Shout Factory has the original release on Blu-Ray and people can get it for 150 dollars with tax at this time (either on eBay or their website).

What website did you purchase this from? How much did you pay for it? It’s out of print now so Shout! Factory no longer has this in stock on their website. On Ebay sellers are selling this for $500, $700, $800 dollars which is totally insane.
I got it from a seller on Amazon it wasn't close to $500 but it was expensive will say that. I didn't get it when it first came out I wish I did I had one before Paul Reubens passed away in my amazon shopping cart and someone beat me to it after his death they sky rocket the price like crazy.
Man I snoozed on that, you’re lucky! I need to just start getting stuff when I see it so I don’t have to pay 4x the price. I have the DVD set that came out around late 2000’s early 2010’s. I’m hoping Shout House will re-release it since it’s in high demand especially since Pee Wee passed. Is the Christmas Special in that set? On the DVD set it came as a separate DVD by itself.
@@HarryManback46and2 I also snoozed on it also because I wasn't even aware by the time I was it was right before pee wee passed I had one copy of it in my amazon cart for $200.00 and some change when I got ready to buy it someone beat me to it and got it once he passed the prices sky rocketed of course due to his death some blu ray sets were going for $600.00 Which is outrageously ridiculous.
@@HarryManback46and2 Shout! Factory went all out on the complete series set of Pee-wee’s Playhouse on BluRay and DVD. Yes the Christmas Special is included on the BluRay and DVD set with all the other episodes, but Shout! Factory did release a separate release of the Christmas Special on BluRay and DVD.
Not a fan at all of Shouts Transfer for this blu-ray release. Everything just looks darker, muted and dull compared to how i remember the show being broadcasted in the late 80's & early 90's. I'd say, those two Big Purple Box DVD sets are the way to fly if you want authenticity, and a more cheerie vibrant colourful picture.
@@MADFLIXandGames Did they re-release a new Blu-ray set with a different transfer? I'm talking about the Shout Blu-ray set that released a few years or so back on both DVD & Blu-ray, that's also been used on streaming services. The transfer looks so weird, not how i remember it back in 89! :P The 2 purple box volumes have the correct colour and look, and i actually prefer watching the show in Standard Def, rather than 1080p. Probably nostalgia talking, but it adds a level of charm compared to 1080p, which usually never looks right for older material.
@@NeonPizza80s I see what your saying well for me I like the Blu-Ray look it's very clean I get what your saying about the nostalgia look yes shout factory re released the pee wee's Playhouse complete series again I have many many DVDs and honestly I been upscaling a lot of my movies and TV Shows from SD to HD and there is definitely a major difference in clarity sound and color I guess it's not for everybody lol.

I missed it the first time, but I just got the blu ray re-release early from shout factory. It is the same Content but no slipcase this time.
