Da hat die Bikeindustrie sich mal wieder selbst übertroffen. Vor Jahren haben sie einen Motor verkauft (EP8). Dann haben sie den gleichen Motor gedrosselt und teurer verkauft (EP8 Rs).
Jetzt verkaufen sie wieder den alten Motor, aber dafür teurer, weil sie sagen: „Wir verkaufen euch den alten Motor, aber haben ihn für euch gedrosselt. Weil ihr den alten Motor in gedrosselter Form ja gar nicht haben wollt, könnt ihr den aber entdrosseln, damit ihr wieder den alten Motor fahren könnt (EP RS+). Da ihr jetzt aber quasi wieder den alten EP8 fahren könnt, nehmen wir einen ordentlichen Preisaufschlag.“

Eigentlich nicht. Die RS- und RS+-Antriebseinheiten waren nie Motoren mit "voller Leistung" oder "reduzierter Leistung". Das RS-System berücksichtigt Leistung, Reichweite, Schnittstelle und Gewicht gemeinsam. Das bedeutet, dass die Leistungsabgabe natürlicher ist als bei einer Standard-Antriebseinheit. Die Leistungsabgabe ist anders und auch das Kommunikationsprotokoll zwischen Batterie und Antriebseinheit ist völlig neu. Mehr darüber erfahren Sie auf unserer Website. Wir danken Ihnen!
This bike looks absolutely awesome. I'm so glad Orbea made a LT, but still within a lighter bike version. I'm a fairly small woman (5.1"/157cm), but I live in Whistler, where the terrain is on the enduro side of things. As a smaller-sized person, it's challenging to find an e-bike in the market that fits in size and feels natural to maneuver on rougher terrain. The new rise seems to have it all!
Please, please, organize a bike test in Whistler or the Sea to Sky, I need to try this machine!

Really like the bike, but I feel Shimano needs to follow Bosch’s lead on including security features on the bike. Especially like some kind of tracker if the bike is stolen. 😅

The reason I sold mine was because the seat tube insertion was atrocious - the defective main pivot design that you have to fix with a cascade link didn’t help either.
Is the issue with motor rattling noise somehow addressed in the new model?
Hello. There has been some upgrades from EP8 to EP801 such as changing seals and tolerances.

Hello! No, it's not compatible. This new version of Rise is not just an upgrade, but a renewed model with many new features. We understand your point, but what has allowed us to develop this new configuration in the new Rise is the technological advancement of the batteries that, without compromising weight or size, have greater capacity. The RS+ is possible thanks to 420Wh or 630Wh batteries without compromising the Rise philosophy. That is why the battery and motor communication protocols are completely new and are not compatible with previous models. Thank you.

Hello Harry. No! The intended use of each platform is different. Rise is more Trail oriented and Wild is a full power Enduro bike.
Be aware their customer service is horrible with warranty claims on the basic issues taking months . Inconsistent messaging . Be prepared to pay for any warranty issues that you may have . Their linkages are sloppy with incorrect fasternes being used l they don’t know how to build bikes . This new bike will have issues and have fun trying to sort all those issues out with head office in Spain.
