It's nice to see someone take pride in their work, even though most of my plumbing work was in basements or crawlspaces, and not very many people would see my work, I still took time to put a level on every piece of copper, and wipe any solder joint that might drop. You just don't see the younger generation taking pride in anything they do. Great job, you are a true professional !!
Fellow autoglass technician here, been doing it for about 7 years now. Just found your page today and it is awesome to see another installer doing things the right way. I see so much sloppy and dangerous work on a daily basis, just nice to watch someone taking the effort to do things correctly. What is that glass stand!? It's pure wizardry compared to my basic cradle.
I wish you worked on my windshield. I had Safelite do mine and the trim they used was not pushed down on the corners and they left a half inch gape at the top of the windshield. I called them and they said it won't leak.
Cos it won't.Trim on the screen is not a sealer(usually),it's more cosmetic."Gap"is a result of glass quality,it is simply badly manufactured ,cheaper to buy...it's all about profit.Good luck

What is this yellow tool and where to buy it ? Also, is it possible to remove the winshield without damaging it ? (i noticed it cracked on a corner. Im asking cuz I need to remove an undamaged winshield from a car to put it on another one ^^)
Have an important question: we just had a local winshield repair do our ford focus se wagon 2003 .. there were 2 different part numbers for the glass..we had a 1459 in there and wanted the same.. he was unable to get that part and used an alternative part 1859 made by FYG..this was acoustic glass so we said, sure as long as it fits..he installs it and fit seemed ok Except for the top seam...whereas ur fitment has the top seated flush , his fit has the winsheild sitting about 1/8-1/4" higher than the car body..It looks odd and is only occuring at the top..When I asked him about this, he said "oh thats completely normal, happens all the time"...is this something we should be concerned about? should we have him redo it? personally, I think the alternate windshield may be alittle off.. what do you suggest? why is it not seating down flush at the top? thanks for any help!
It’s just how some aftermarket Chinese glass fits, this body style Focus was bad about that at the top, I always run a extra tall bead of glue and tape all the way across the top down good until the urethane dries. FYG glass is crap to start with. They’re not the greatest fitting glass on the market from my experience, been doing auto glass for 30 years now.
Hi Jona Its depend on make n model, I can tell You one thing...it is not a sealer, urethane(glue) seals the screen.Trims+rubbers on the side or top are usually clip in ,pushed in or glued in. If its glued in You may have to remove n refit windcreen.if sits in clips or runners You can replace them allright. All d best
It's sikaflex. Sika branded stuff is used a lot at the manufacturing plants when they build your car. Expensive, but it's the highest quality you can buy.
You should have replaced the butyl tape. When raining all the water from the windshield will go down enter underneath the cowl, get into the pollen filter, soak it and finally get into the passenger feet well. Have seen it on many focus of this gen.
Yeah, that old butyl tape gets pretty mashed up and non stick after it's been abused by the usual idiots taking short cuts changing the cabin filter. The worst leaks I've had on a Ford have usually come from that area after a few years.
@@Loudd2v I'm searching everywhere for an answer, I only need to replace the windscreen seal ( rust problems). But can't find any info on applying the new seal to the windscreen.. does that get glued together? Or simply pressed together, then have sealant holding everything to the windscreen frame?

Awesome video. I dont agree with using that brush on the cars paint job but still a good video
It's a soft bristled brush. The bristles look course but the tips are actually soft almost like cotton.
Super be happy...
How long does it take for the glue to dry

Have you ever used the m12 urethane gun? If so how did you like it ?
That's what I use. They work great. I used to have the Dewalt 18V XRP, but the M12 gun is smaller and lighter. I highly recommend it.
I wonder why he isn't using his power tools, something must of happened to his battery.

I did remove one 2 days ago. It's harder trying not to damage it but you can still do it with fishing wire..
you need a reciprocating saw and an Equalizer blade. See here: btbtools.com/index.php/ehl187.html
Risky brushing bonnet if there’s any fragments of glass scratch paintwork use air line best way
