The highly requested overnight heatless waves tutorial 💁🏻♀️ This is literally life-changing; I haven't touched my curling wand since I started doing this and am so excited to finally share my voluminous curly hair tutorial with you all! I initially saw the robe belt method from Marcela Tumas • CABELO DE DIVA SEM BAB... and after 5 tries (tweaking it as I went along) I finally perfected it. So here are some of my tips on how to get big loose waves using no heat. Enjoy!

Ok I know it took me 1000000 years to finally upload this but life has been really crazy for the past month 🤧
Some notes: I do this on dry hair! Not damp or wet. Also, you can tie a scarf around your head if you're scared it'll move while you're sleeping but I would only recommend this if absolutely necessary; it does reduce volume and I like big waves 🌬
How are you all holding up? I think I'd be fine if I could go to the gym but staying inside my apartment all day is making me feel really sluggish 😣 I hope you're all staying safe and healthy though!
Recently, I've been baking to relieve stress but it's actually becoming a problem 😰 my fridge is full of waffles, mochi, banana bread, and probably apple cobbler by tomorrow if I'm feeling sad enough lol...and I can't even give any of these to my friends anymore bc nobody's leaving the house!! Tried this yesterday, here are my thoughts:
•the rope was really easy to put on the hair, took like 5 minutes
•kind of uncomfortable to sleep in, but if you put the buns low and have them rest on your neck, its a lot better
•the front of my hair looked sooo amazing in the morning, but the back that weren't wrapped around the rope as much stayed pretty much completely straight
•doing the routine on damp hair helped keep the waves in place without hairspray

@@wavetostars my hair doesnt hold heated curls very well but every time that I’ve done this I find it holds so so well! I recommend wetting your hands and running them through your hair (I don’t do it from the roots, more just the bit that you want to be wavy). I put in a leave in conditioner after wetting it too, but this is more to keep my hair soft and conditioned, rather than to help the curl stay in any longer. I’d try it with just wetting your hair for now and see how it goes! For me it falls out in to a beautiful wave that stays for DAYS even without hairspray & gel.

for anyone with frizzy, wavy/loosely curled hair, i did this and it worked for me! use bigger sections of hair for bigger waves and opposite for smaller curls, brush out to loosen any ringlets and use hairspray/hair oil to take away any leftover frizz ❤️ also, my hair is thick but quite malleable so keep that in mind too

i do this often (just without the belt but the process is pretty similar and the buns look the same) & what i’ve learned is that if you like to sleep on your side, you need to try to make the buns more on the middle/back of your head, like close to the nape of your neck. if you like to sleep on ur back or tummy like me, then doing it at the sides like she did in this video is fine!!

@@minali3876 I think there's 2 different types of Asian hair: thick (I'm guessing what you're referring to as coarse) and fine. I have the fine type and it holds curls for only like 5 minutes lmao I'm so jealous.
Asians definitely have thick coarse hair lol. Every time I go to a white salon they can’t handle my hair and they don’t know how to work with my hair cause it’s too thick for them I started going to asian owner salons and they work better for me since they work with asian hair better asian people get tired of my hair too cause I have too much. I always have to chop my hair off shoulder length cause it’s too much work for these stylists. I’ve dealt with white, Hispanic and asian hair stylist they also tell me their asian customers have very thick coarse hair compared to Caucasian people
review: i didn't really expect this to work because of my short, slightly layered hair, my bad luck when it comes to beauty-related things, and my lack of materials (i swapped the rope belt and scrunchies for tights and hair elastic). to my surprise, it worked (after the most uncomfortable night of my life lol, i woke up over five times throughout the night). i'll definitely try this again once my hair grows out :)

@@j4y1en my hair is really thick and a lot of it so I wasn’t really expecting it to do anything if I left it dry so I wet it slightly. Like not a lot because otherwise it will take ages to dry. So I do suggest wetting you hair a bit but just enough so that it is damp

didn’t work at first because my hair was too wet and didn’t dry so i did it again and sprayed my dry hair with water then put it in the twists and it came out amazing.

in case anyone was wondering i tried this!!! i did it yesterday night with new socks and my curls weren’t as nice as the girls in the videos but i still got lots of compliments today & this was ridiculously easy. :) 100% recommend! i’m trying them again but with damp hair & a dressing gown rope tonight and i’ll see which is better.
update: didn’t work with damp hair at all, will continue with my hair dry

Just did this and it worked so well! After a couple hours, the curls were softer and I LOVED IT! For sleeping, I recommend sleeping on a big pillow with part of your shoulder resting on the pillow so your shoulder takes some of the pressure off your head! Still kinda uncomfortable to sleep but that helped me a lot :)

Found that I had the best results when wearing a silk sleeping cap or using a silk pillow case- makes the hair less frizzy and disheveled in the morning.

It works!!! I Recommend spraying your curls with a little bit of water before putting it away in a bun so that the curls come out even better
I did this yesterday and I'M IN LOVE with the result! Totally worked ❤
I´m doing this and my hair looks amazing!! Here are some things that I noticed:
1 - Don´t wear any type of absorbent fabric (i used thigh high cotton socks at my first try), It will create more frizz in the crown of the head;
2 - If you have lots of layers in your hair it may look shapeless, like a big mess of hair :c It tend to look better at the next day, and you can also brush the waves lightly, it won´t come off;
3 - If toss and turn in your sleep and you have longer hair, try to wrap the first strand of hair a little lower than your ears, so the roll will rest on your neck and you can sleep in any position;
4 - My hair is wavy, so I like to brush and aply some leave in cream (I don´t know how to say this in english) and then wrap the hair, so it won´t come off too frizzy;
5 - If your fabric is long enough, you can wrap it aroun itself and pull through, just like a normal bun without a elatic, it will be secure and no more than 2 elastic will be needed.

It worked with my hair, it’s a little little longer than shoulder length but still not very long. There are a few pieces sticking out and the buns were a bit tricky to do but it might still work for you:)

You can do it with any belt & just not put it in a bun. Just tie your hair from below with a hair tie. It’ll actually be more comfortable during sleeping as if it’s a braid

I’ve done it and to avoid that I wrap it around my head and tie it on top of my head. It’s still kind of uncomfortable but at least I can turn my head while I’m sleeping

It's not necessary to do it before sleep. You can do it the morning and leave it all day when you are home . Just need many hours.

1. high moisture products! go natural, no heat styling.
2. depends on ur hair texture i might not recommend this, but i got a japanese straight perm in 2018 and touched up the roots like 5 months ago. hairs longs and heavy enough to where the roots are completely straight now.
3. blow dry directly downwards just around the scalp while hair is partially wet/dry. avoid if you have damaged hair.
my natural hair type: mixed, straight at the root, wavy body, naturally frizzy (not anymore), thick and dense. black (color wise) asian hair!

S Kani i got keratin done to my hair in south america so now my hair is straight but it’s never flat at the roots 😐 and i have short hair so it’s just awful having your roots not be flat i look like i’m wearing a wig lmfaooo can’t stand my hair i always put it up. just got 26 inch extensions though 360 grams and my hair is still too thick 😂 i have to go get them cut but after all this corona virus mess lol

It went really well! The waves looked great and my hair held up pretty well to it, although since I have shoulder length hair it was harder to put up in the sock.

i did this using a belt from shorts i had when i was like 8 lol i twisted my wet hair and didn’t put my hair into buns bc i can’t sleep w them, so i just left them as twists. i left them on overnight and it worked out rlly well. i prefer this method over braiding my hair, since the waves are looser haha if ur gonna start w dry hair i recommend just adding a bit of water so ur hair is damp, so when ur hair dries it’ll be waves. make sure u wet ur hair, if ur hair can’t hold a curl for a long time/if u have straight hair, you’ll get better results !

But I usually sleep on my side so it would still bother me 😅 I will try to do it during the day rather than overnight, when I have enough time to keep it in my hair at least 4-6 hours, hopefully it work the same

I actually use this exact method to „uncurl“ my hair. I have extremely curly hair but my natural curls get lost over the day and I‘ll just look like an idiot on some kind of drug who hasn’t brushed their hair in days. So I decided to use this method and it works perfectly! So maybe if you have the same problem you should give it a try :D

@Athenas after I washed my hair and brushed through it with my fingers, I do this method pretty loosely on my head so my natural curls can develop but not in such a intense way :)

I do this overnight whenever I wash my hair (while the hair is still damp so I let it dry overnight) and the waves actually last for over 3 days without any hair spray (I have short hair though that might be why they last that long)
tip: you don't have to tie them into two buns if they are uncomfortable at night. you can just wrap them around the belt completely, tie the ends to the belt with some hair ties and then wrap the belt around your head a few times and tie the ends together (again: works perfectly with short hair. idk about long hair but I don't really see the problem)
What kind of hair you have? Just wanted to ask because I have very thick, straight hair that I always struggle to curl and tie up😅
