I can confirm that Kenji Alt is indeed a POS person. Our history dates back over a decade, when I would go on seriouseats website and leave funny comments on his posts just to see how triggered he instantly gets and goes on full attack mode in the comment section for the slightest perceived insult when I was at first being genuinely curious on his technique (or lack there of) in cooking. He would leave all the comments up instead of banning me, showing what a psychopath he is, and he even sent me multiple emails hurling insults like a butthurt baby. It really was fascinating to see, and no surprise to me that he hasn't changed at all.

Strictly food speaking, I enjoy Kenji's content. He is very good at his craft.... BUT... but I will say that the one thing I don't care for is the fact that he insists on pushing his personal agenda's via his social medias, often with zero context and zero credibility.
Then, to bash on something El Pres has been working to put together for years... Like regardless of cooking conditions, these pizzerias have agreed so they know what they are getting into and this is gonna be an epic gathering! The positivity that Dave has brought to so many hard working business's over the years, especially during such difficult times, has been amazing!

I grew up on eating new Haven pizza and that pie looks fireeeee. I absolutely love grated Parmesan / ramono cheese though and Dave doesn't. I'm a huge Pizza guy, but Dave would be disappointed in the ungodly amount of grated cheese I put on my pizza. To me that looks like an 8.8 ... one of my favorites of all time where i ate at the most in New Haven is Modern Apizza and that's an 8.9 to me
I love how, as easily distracted and forgetful as Dave is, the ONE thing he's completely unflappable about is people he considers scumbags that should be called out.
But it's still a poor reflection on Dave.

That looks waaaaaaaaay higher than an 8.2. On looks alone it's an 8.8, easily, and likely after tasting it would get into the low 9s because it looks like the taste should be amazing. What Dave knocked, the grated cheese and the little bit of grease on top, to me those would ADD to the score, not lower it.
I like how the owner kept it positive. More people need to be like that guy. Kenji is a little too woke these days, but his food stuff is strong and he does seem like a nice guy to most. The best pizza is made in Lorain, OH by the mom and pop shop called Giovanni's. I still make a drive of 9 hours there and back to go buy it because no one makes better pizza. Yala's is a very close second and Rosie's is also pretty darn good. In this town you can even think of running a pizza place that is Sub Par because people will run you out of town!

Before being deployed we were in New Jersey training, and they gave us the day off to go to New York City. Went to a little hole in the wall pizza place we had found near where the Twin Towers used to be and it was the best pizza I've ever had. Best pizza I've ever had.
