- Hi everyone! Welcome to part thirteen (we're almost there!) of my vlog series from my recent 21-night cruise onboard MSC World Europa, one of the newest cruise ships from MSC Cruises. This cruise took me from Dubai (UAE) to Marseille (France), via the Suez Canal, so I have so much to show you!
In this episode, we're in Barcelona, which is currently holding the position of being my favourite city in Europe. I'm hoping that I can start to show you why this is today, as I'll take you ashore, walk into the city, check out Las Ramblas, the old market, and then finally head down to the more modern beach area - let's go and explore Barcelona, Spain!
Once we get back to the ship, I have somewhere top secret to be tonight - I can't tell you (or show you) too much, but I'll give you a glimpse. Remember - shh!
If you're new to my channel, hello! I'm Fraser, and I want to use this channel to showcase to the world the cruise industry. I'm spending the rest of 2023 mostly living on cruise ships (as a passenger), and I hope to share my passion with you! So, for now, hit the subscribe button and let's go - I've got SO MUCH to show you!

it's a long road to join the rambles in first you're marathon man, haha.
Haha!
My goodness, time has seemed to have flown by! Spain is definitely on my "must see" list. Indeed, a secret is always a great discovery to make oneself! Love it! Take great care now and enjoy the week ahead. Bruce and Otis
I know - time really is disappearing, isn’t it?! Thanks so much for watching guys!
Thanks Fraser. Great to follow you thru the streets of Barcelona. Just makes you want to go back! 😊
I just LOVE Barcelona - it’s such a unique city! Watching this video myself makes me want to go back!
I must admit I laughed out loud at the disembarkation procedure.
60 days now before my first r cruise, and thanks to you and Emma cruises, we have three others booked and am just toying with idea of world America out of Miami in April 2025. You have created a monster!!!
You’re so welcome - to be put at blame alongside Emma is a massive compliment to me, so thank you! I think you should go and get 2025 booked - why not?! :)
LOL, and you're not the only one! I got infected too.
Spain is most definitely another redo!
Wow! The ship is such a great place to have a home away from home for 20 days +. & the speakeasy classic -👍 - my brother and I find ‘em while in Las Vegas - real swanky and great atmosphere 😀
Oh, I bet they’re amazing in Vegas! Are they properly hidden there, or quite easy to scope out?
@@FraserAtSea on the last visit - 2 out of 3 where fairly easy to find - needed a password for one you can get online. There was one establishment very different to locate. We were standing right in front of the entrance. Looked like a large glass wall of the building. We got in when others walked by us and pushed In a glass door 😀. Very cool place -
@@shawnryan8345 ha, this sounds amazing!
OMG 10 minutes 😱
I know - talk about a way to raise the heartbeat…!!
Did not realize so many people get on/off at each port, not something we see here cruising from USA to Caribbean.
Yeah, it’s a funny one when you’re used to american cruising - lots of European ships operate this way. It makes it way more flexible for your vacation plans, which is good!
Another lovely video really enjoyed seeing you in Barcelona. Personally I prefer Valencia to Barcelona it's a bit smaller but still full of interesting things to see and do with a beautiful beach as well. Thank you for bringing us with you on this journey that has been really thought provoking and quite definitely different from the majority of cruise videos on CZcams. Can't wait to see what's next. 😊❤
Hey! Thanks so much for this comment, Colin - genuinely means a lot! Glad you’re enjoying, and interesting point on Valencia - I LOVED it there when I visited (part of my next vlog series actually on Costa Diadema, so watch this space) - it’s SUCH a nice city. Thanks as always for following along!
Nice, lot of usefull information. I'm not gonna walk that long road as I will embark in Barcelona. But I'm close to the entrance where the statue is so the shuttlebus is my best option. You have actually walked by the hotel I will be staying in november ;) Just a few houses before the Broqueria market. That will be the place where I'm gonna buy some food and eat on my balcony. Only after sightseeing Barcelona and probably being very tired. Tnx for the video Fraser!
Oh, snacks from the market on the balcony sounds dreamy - what’s on your radar? The fruit is all SO fresh, and all the hams are amazing too!
@@FraserAtSea Fruitjuice, fresh fruit, some chorizo, dried ham en if there cooked shrimps and some bread. That will do until breakfast I think LOL. I will have done Sagrada familia and Park Gruel during the day so need some nice vitamines ;)
@@mayavandoorn261 oh, you’ll be thirsty - I’d recommend getting some wine, just incase! Haha
@@FraserAtSea Only if you insist hahahaaha🍷🍾
I once met a man in Barcelona who had just one leg…… lol
Mine was in Tenerife - maybe he travelled… Ha!
Is speakeasy bar an invite only or something you can pre-book? Just planning my MSC World America inaugural sailing 😀
Hey! Invite only, so you’ll need to befriend the right crew members - GOOD LUCK!
hi again can you informe me about the thermal space have you visit it, and if you' gone into, please can you tell me if i can find exterior jacuzzi in the thermal space, thanks your return best regards from france.
Hey! It’s a lovely space - you can see it on my ship tour video 😊 No outdoor hot tubs in the thermal area - they’re free to use on the top decks!
Any tips on how to Get invited to the Speakeasy Bar?
You’ll need to befriend the right crew members - good luck!
We go to Barcelona next year, we are disappointed to see the graffiti and rubbish all over. Its such a shame. Loved how the day you show how easy it is to get off it wasn't easy 😂
Don’t worry - Barcelona is beautiful, and so much fun! It’s typical that it became the day where it was impossible to get off, haha! Thanks for watching!
I’m really looking forward to Barcelona on our upcoming cruise with MSC. However, I’m very disappointed with how trashy the areas looks. It’s reminds me of Juarez, MX. I sincerely hope that the trash everywhere is just a one off, but think it isn’t…
Hey, thanks for watching! Barcelona’s actually a really clean and tidy city, so honestly don’t worry. It’s much worse in cities like Naples, but Barcelona’s beautiful!
Oh wait, by ‘trashy’, I’ve just re read and you don’t mean trash covered - you mean tacky - sorry! Again, I don’t think you’ve got anything to worry about. My main tip is to not spend all of the time in the main tourist area - do some exploring and you’ll find more authentic and Spanish!
As a paying passenger I don't like cameras - says the man who needs exposure. Really?
Hi Ian, thanks for watching!
