    Hi everyone, I am aware of a scammer impersonnating me in the comments who seems to be trying to trick you into messaging him on whatsapp. If you are messaged by this person, always look at the handle. My account is @Seans_World, if you do not see this then it is not me. I believe the person was called Patrick Boyle, with CZcams's new foolproof update everyone has a unique handle. I'll never tell you to contact me on any other platform unless I say so in a video. We ban the accounts but new ones keep cropping up, so stay alert.
    Sean.

      Many thanks to you all lads. Must admit that my credulousness and bumpkin Appalachian Kentucky upbringing and deep culture contributed to my having been duped in the past. Great channel you all have. Thinking about moving to France and enjoying the quality of life enjoyed better simply in the vital daily proper sit down meals with wines, cheeses and proper 20 British ounce pints of Bitter and regional ales. Won't even start maundering on about single malt Whiskies and boiled puddings.

    You were visiting the Basilica of Saint Therese of Lisieux. The groundbreaking was in 1929 and it was completed in 1954. It was funded by donations and contributions from countries throughout the world. The Basilica did suffer some minor damage during the war. St. Therese of Lisieux is also known by some as; “The Little Flower.” She was an inspiration and testimony of the love of God and neighbor. She is the patron saint of florists, foreign missions, loss of parents, priests, and the sick (especially those with TB).

      The ground breaking is what the plaque referenced in Latin when they first walked up. Roughly translated it says:
      Behind here is the Basilica in honor of St Therese of the Infant Jesus
      The corner stone was placed harkening back to her birthday, September 30, 1929
      In this case the birthday of September 30 is the date of her death in 1897 and refers to the date she was born into heaven.

    When I was stationed near Evreux 64-66 I visited many WWII sites. We would go to St Mere Eglise, ( where the paratrooper hung on the church all day, until the citizens rescued and hid hin on D Day) for a commorative Para jump out of C47 aircraft. Many beautiful towns and cities. I have a large book about Pays D'Angelo, and the manor houses there. (MANOR HOUSESIN NORMANDY, Regis Faucon/Yves Lescroart) beautiful places. Some I've seen, others I would like to visit. Keep traveling, videoing. Life is not all about work. Thnx for sharing.

    Hi Sean, Thanks for another road trip in France, The Basilica of Saint Therese de Lisieux, was breath taking, and her history is amazing. The village was quaint and quiet. As a cheese lover (who isn't) myself, the cheese looked creamy and yummy. The Italians also have a lot of smelly cheese's as well, get past that and the taste is marvelous. The sausage looked pretty good as well. Nice to have your son with you. Thanks for a day out. Love from N.Y.

    Hi Sean, a note for local history overlap but the Lisieux Shine to St. Therese has a step-sister shrine near me called the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, Michigan. The money raised to build it was largely generated by Fr. Charles Coughlin from his radio broadcasts in the Great Depression when he had 30 million followers. I appreciated your visit to the Shrine as I would never have seen it but for your video. Thank you for a wonderful virtual experience 😊

    • @joseeallyn9950
      @joseeallyn9950 Před rokem +1

      That is wonderful to know of someone near the sister shrine! My husband supports them and they send us lovely prayer cards, rosaries etc. all the time! Therese is very dear to us . We have been to her shrine in France, I wish you could go there too.
      We are about to head out to France soon and I am (with no talent or expertise !) thinking of making a rather amateur vlog of how we travel from the USA , cheaply to France. I hear of so many people who want to enjoy this wonderful country but are put off by the price (of guided tours) , the language and negotiating the transport systems. We have done it for 59 years and my husband is quite lame now but if we can manage it, anyone can! We will try to make it possible for Americans to 'have an adventure" , so keep watching, you never know if we achieve our goal of making France accessible to everyone, of any income and any age. Meanwhile I really love Sean and his 'adventures'! Happy 'adventures' to you too !

    Thank you so much for visiting here and showing us. The second line calls St. Theresa of the child Jesus, a well-known title of this Saint. She entered the cloistered Carmelite Monastery at age 15 and died at 24 from tuberculosis. She is known for her "simple way." She is a powerful intercessor for causes and needs, was named a doctor of the Roman Catholic Church for her prayer life and spirituality. She is always shown with roses as rose petals fell after her death...a prayer says "pick me a rose from the garden of heaven and send it to me..." so much more about this powerful Saint...

    Thank you for sharing your down time with a walk about! I worked in France just outside of Toulouse. When we had down time, we were off to all points of interest. One of the tops was Carcassonne. Like you noticed the architecture is amazing. It seems like you stepped back in time. Looking out over the walls. Walking about Albie was great too! The only downside was when the cell phone went off we would Scurry back to work. I was so surprised by all the kind people we came across in our day to day. I look forward to your further adventures Sean. CHEERS

      Hey, Tony ! You are right to mention Albi. Few people know this city, but it is clearly one of the most beautiful small cities in France. So beautiful ! 🙂
      Have a good day !

    Our Lady of Lisuex, the home of Saint Therese and "the little way". I think about her daily. Then I see this and feel blessed. Thank you Sean.
