Great info. I couldn't find where Kia had hidden the filter or the drain plug. Not too bad of a job once I knew where those were. And yes, I also managed to drop the plug into the drain pan. Slippery little momzer. Thanks for posting this!!

Great video! Kia doesn't want you to perform routine maintenance; they want you to go to a dealer. Info to make an atomic bomb is more easily found than Sorento info. Also, I'm originally from Glendale, NW Phoenix but not in AZ any longer. It is nice to connect with someone from the valley. Thanks

Good video brother! I have a 2014 kia sorento lx 2.4 4 cylinder and just did an oil change and a transmission drain and fill. Ive realized that plastic underneath has been just a pain to remove for an oil change, plus my hands are too big to fit through that hole for the oil filter. Ive completely unscrewed and taken off that whole plastic skid plate making oil changes a breeze! I understand its there for aerodynamics, and haven’t noticed any difference in fuel consumption, to be honest i still get a consistent 27 mpg combined plus better air flow through the transmission housing keeping the transmission cool.

How do you reset the oil life on a vehicle like this when I have found various articles but none of them seem to work because my car does not have the fancy LCD screen

Is there a gasket or crush washer or some sort that goes on the drain plug? I recently changed the oil on my 2014 sorento and I noticed a few weeks later it was leaking around the drain plug. Anyone experience this?

Darren Hicks I always change out the gasket, I don’t believe I showed this on the video. You can always find a multi pack on amazon 😁
Can I go 10.000 Kilometers for the OE line?
Shake N' Bake stick with whatever your OEM intervals are for synthetic. if you’d like I can get you an oil analysis kit and that would let you know truly how long you can go

We used to take a screwdriver and hammer it through the filter and turn.
5w30? Mine says 5w20
Either is fine according to the manual. If you live where it's very hot 5w30 is preferable.
