I have a special place in my heart for flight attendants. They've always been so nice during my flights home from some difficult deployments overseas. I know how much they appreciate it when I tell them I'm a medic, and available to assist if they need me. Luckily, I've never had any emergencies on my flights!
I had to handle a medical emergency from a flight from New York to Bucharest many years ago. So, I can understand how flight attendant are so very helpful. My emergency was a 89yr old female coming from SFO to JFK then to OTP, we found out she didn't eat or drink anything on that segment of her journey causing her to pass out in the lavatory. She didn't speak any English, and so fortunate that one of the flight attendant spoke her language and was able to translate how the patient felt and try to get an understanding of the many meds she was taking but couldn't remember the names of the drugs. I remember being over Greenland and asked if we needed to divert! Not wanting to stop in Greenland, lol, we continued on and kept her stable until landing in OTP. But the flight crew was wonderful!!! Upon landing, that gave me 4 bottles of Champagne and other goodies! lol, funny part, I got the same flight crew upon my return back to the U.S. two weeks later and they gave me three more bottles of Champagne as a thank you!! LOL. The only problem was packing the bottles in my luggage for my return to LAX, since I couldn't bring those bottles on carry-on! LMAO. But you guys are GREAT!!
I flew on thanksgiving and had 2 flights …I gave the crew a box of chocolates on each flight for them to share. I wanted to show them I was appreciated them for working on a holiday.
Being with family is the best on holidays.

Yes medical emergencies can be scary! I am an old nurse and one of my nurse friends actually got a job with Delta as a flight attendant.

I have the same tradition everytime i fly out of the las vegas Airport. I stop and get a Cinnabon also. They are so good.

yes in order to get out of the training center you would need to endure like 50 hours a week 6 to 8 weeks total and on top of that the instructors will not tolerate any major mistake or questionable judgement on your part.

Went to Vegas on Friday, spent the weekend, was a great time. Toured the Radiers new stadium and went to the hockey game on Saturday. Had a blast.

I'm glad that you had a chance to see your parents. I worked at The Boeing Co. for years and part if your training is history. The first airline was The Boeing Co. Airline, which would become United Airlines years later. When people started flying airlines, all flight attendants had to be nurses, flying was completely different then today, planes were small, not pressurized noisy.
Good job Julia! Good for you for not divulging any pertinent information about the medical emergency. You just never know somebody might have known somebody who is on that flight and can figure out what happened to that person. So good on you for drawing the line.

Good Job on the medical emergency. And the early work hours. I find once the alarm goes off to get out of bed immediately. Once I am up, I am up and start the getting ready process. Laying there thinking about it is the worse even in you have 5 more minutes. Best to get up and get going.
@Jetting Julia - I don't know how many viewers caught it, but your comment at 14:25 is the first time I've ever heard a FA say that "we are safety professionals, that is our job." Talk about an accurate, often overlooked and under appreciated, statement! From the time the door closes until the time it's opened, both flight deck and cabin crews put your lives on the line to keep us safe. All I can add to that is simply "Thank you"❣

I took my 3yo grandson to the little park by the fire station in Willow Park on TG afternoon. I swear it was 50 degrees with gale force winds, but he was happy as could be to be outside playing in the sunshine. It was a beautiful day!

I was in vegas at the beginning of the month first time out there its nice versus atlantic city in my state of nj 80 degree weather that entire week can't complain
