    First time I've come across you. Such a clear explanation and good graphics too; well done.
    I have one problem - I don't have a password to get into my 'remote' windows 10 computer but I am still asked for one for the SSH link! Nothing works. Any ideas?
    Do you have another video that extends this with the use of private and public keys?

    pretty similar to FTP but SSH is more secure, wish I knew this before. was utilizing FTP to transfer files from local location to remote location.

    • @neall620
      @neall620 Před 2 lety +1

      Static IP is usually a service provided by your ISP. You don't get to pick your DHCP assigned IP typically.
      If your remote computer is on the same Local network as you, can assign a static lease for the Lan address on most routers

      Advise you use something like ZeroTIer, works very well to put remote computers anywhere on the same virtual LAN avoiding open ports. I believe TailScale does the same...

      You need to know the ip, you could setup a bash script to send you periodic updates on your email or when the ip changes. Maybe on pc startup or smt.
