- It's been years since we have eaten dinner at the all-you-care-to-enjoy Polynesian, family-style restaurant on the second floor of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. 'Ohana is a multi-course dining experience with grilled meats, wonderful sides, and an incredible dessert. We can't wait to try this one out again... Enjoy!

We've been going to WDW for decades and in our experience its not good food at all, but if you want to eat there, breakfast is the better option. Kona Cafe is a better experience for food and ambiance.
My husband and I agree with you! We would rather go to Kona or order online and we pick up the order. We will be sitting in Tambu Lounge and I will be drinking the Lapu Lapu refill. My husband goes down stairs and gets his Dole Whip w/rum.
On a solo day this summer, I relived some of my favorites at Tambu, but there’s nothing like gathering family around those tables with that view and getting immersed in the Polynesian spirit.
During our one Disney world trip, a year ago, we made reservation here, enjoyed walking around the resort, and lucked out and got the fireworks and window seat . It was an amazing experience. Your podcast was such a huge help! #magical

I hope you review all the lounges on property. That would be so fun to watch!. Please include the lounge food as well as the drinks. I can’t drink alcohol, but I love your reviews - I can enjoy the drinks vicariously!

Hi Dan and Leslie!! Have dined at 'Ohana numerous times with our family of 10 pre-Covid and once post-Covid. We had fantastic experiences there every time!! Now that Hubby and I go to WDW often without the kids and grandkids, we are frequent diners at Tambu Lounge to savor the best of what 'Ohana has to offer!!!! Thank you for this review! We are going to Disney this April and by some miracle I was able to get a 4pm reservation… not really the time we wanted, but I took it because it was available. Then one of the first things you said in this video was you had better experiences at the earlier times. 😊 Thanks again for your dining reviews … they have helped us a lot in our planning.

Rare meat would be nice for the beef. Yes, of course the shrimp is fully cooked. You can get the Lapu Lapu at Tambu Lounge refill without the pineapple and it's more economically priced. This is my favorite drink by the way! We ate there again in December and we agree the meat wasn't that good at all. We like just going to the Lounge and ordering from the others restaurant online menu. The fireworks are terrific on the beach too. That includes the electrical boat show. Great thumbs up.
Ohana for me is a one and done it. The only thing that I liked a lot (or loved) was the bread pudding at the end.
I don't get it either. I mean it was ok, I just don't get the hype. It was fine.
Ohana dinner is my favorite, the best I ever had on Disney property. I miss the food so much ..... Not the breakfast though.

Just subscribed and boy do we have a lot in common with you guys as far as food and restaurants goes. We love your videos with all the descriptions and ratings of the 5 categories. The Boathouse seems to be our go to restaurant and Boma is probably #2 most frequented by us. So glad we subscribed and we will definitely try some new venues at DS when we revisit in March and April. Will you be making another trip to Summer House on the Lake to see if they have improved since your last visit? Btw, I’m also a one ice cube guy, lol

I'm going solo in Sept. and while I love Ohana and always eat there with my family, I am not sure that I can eat all of that by myself. Kona has a potsticker, although not quite the same type as Ohana, Lapu Lapus, and the bread pudding. What more could I want?
I love the noods 🍜 and the bread pudding, but I'm not the biggest fan of some of their other offerings at the dinner so we do go to the lounge more often so I can get what I like w/o the big pricetag. My biggest complaint is the rushed service. The last time we were there we really felt rushed out the door, and for over $60 a person I feel like there are better options. I do like the atmosphere and theming of the entire hotel though. The coconut races I thought were during the character breakfast in the mornings-although I don't know if they've brought them back yet from all the big C changes. I'm glad you two enjoyed it so much this time.

Great review. Curious - what brought food to a 4.5 instead of a 5?
4.5 is an excellent rating. Nothing at all brought it down from a 5. But looking at it the other way around, to bring it up to a 5 really would require cooking to order meals instead of bulk cooking the same food for everyone in large quantities, even if it was very good.

0:35 a few times in the past we’ve been able to go and just get on the waiting list, wait for about 30-45m and get seated. But it’s been a couple years, so they still offer a waiting list?

Is it correct to assume that kids aren’t able to go into Tambu Lounge? Ages 8 and 11.
They can’t sit at the bar, but they can be at the tables there

It’s bigger if you have a party of 3 or 4. And yes, they will bring you as much as you want.

Ridiculous that you are paying a premium price to stay at the Polynesian resort and can’t eat in the restaurants without a 2 month advance reservation.
I don’t disagree, but not sure how they would change it to make it better.
People don’t dress for dinner ?
Not worth the hype.
