    Really useful seeing the fight against the trolls because when I first fought them I thought the character needed a successful attack to make the second attack to chop the fallen trolls to bit. So I had a LOT of trolls regenerating because I kept failing that second attack, when I could have just taken the attack round to perform the action. 😔

    "And again these are level 1 creatures, we might be able to take a bunch of them out with a single swing of our weapon"
    >*rolls
    "Well not that many..."
    I laughed too hard! hahaha

    SURPRISING 😳 that you encountered so many FUNGHI FOLK 🍄 in that narrow corridor… 🤔
    Ordinarily, there’s not MUSH ROOM in corridors….. 😎

    Wow, that was a lot of progress through the dungeon. Too bad about the barbarian. I'm enjoying your play-through sessions

      Hopefully, we are able to return him to his normal non-statue state :-)

    Correct me if I’m wrong, but around 1:30 you decide to attempt leveling up the wizard from 2 to 3. However you just leveled him up after the dragon fled in the last video. In my copy of 4AD on Page 65, number 9 under the section Things to Remember, it says: “Keep track of who was the last character who leveled up, because you cannot level up the same character twice in a row, even if he is the only character alive.” So were you allowed to do that? I just want to learn the rules correctly.

      Good question. I had the same concern. I'm thinking the wizard should not have rolled for XP since the rulebook states that clues are found by a single character, so any restrictions put on that character would apply here.

    If you've already covered this in a previous comment, I apologize for repeating - can you tell me where you found the 12-sided "d6s" that you use in these videos?

    Nice but it often seemed too easy for the party. This group of (mostly) lvl 1 characters were formidable!

    I'm kinda questioning that 'non-violent' sleep mechanic for the Medusa. The Rogue started with a dagger attack, so I assumed the whole encounter is classed at violent. If you started with the Wizard and did a successful sleep, then I'd be more inclined to say non-violent. But I get it, I played this myelf and probably do the same in an effort to maximize my chances. Anyways, love the vids....really helped me out with some finer nuances.

      I think if the encounter is resolved (completed) in a non-violent manner even if it starts violent is ok. This is just my interpretation.

    So I am playing this myself and I have encountered a Medusa. I was wondering if you know if I roll it's reactions first or if I have to roll to save against the gaze first.

    Love your videos and this game! :) Happy you had your 3rd clue because I was just wondering if a choice like weakness of a monster was a one time deal, or lasted the whole game or even campaign. Looking at the clue list I think some are one time deals, others last but nowhere is it written. What do you think? :)

    • @GrayBoardGamer
      @GrayBoardGamer  Před 6 lety +2

      I think you have to interpret the text for the individual reward (something big). I chose "Weakness of a Monster," and it is not very clear on the duration of the effect. It does state that "you have a +2 to attack that monster." To me "that monster" sounds like a single reference and not a reference to any monster of that type. I could be wrong, but to me, it seems like a one time effect. Some of the other rewards specify longer or permanent durations. My reward doesn't specify, so I will go with single-use since it dosesn't benefit me and if I'm wrong, I rather be wrong in the game's favor than in my favor.
