Man someone that painted that van back in the day they sure did a damn good job and it was a ton of work and skill to paint that and the owner of the van at that time had to pay a pretty penny to get that done too. Its a shame it ended up how it did.

Those old vans are gaining in value ! We sold a 76 Dodge Customized van for $27,000 in July..
I bought it for $4800,rebuilt the engine, interior was very clean and original with shag rugs ...The paint was majority fine,we just repaired where it needed/blended it in and you couldnt tell...Van had 230,000 on it but was always garaged and never abused ! Even straight ,clean older cargo vans are worth money...
Sadly that GM van was pretty far gone, but I restored worse vehicles..A 69 Charger RT was rusted, smashed and parts picked off..Now its a $85,000 appraised value Charger RT 440 Magnum/stroker 535 c.i with 752 hp and 893 torque ! Runs on pump 89 octane !!! low 9 second 1/4 mile car when she want to hook up !

the sad thing is, each one of these cars was someone's pride and joy at one point. I remember when my sister and her husband bought their corsica. new. didn't even have 20 miles on it when I first rode in it. it was a neat little car, rode nicely all the way to texas and back. not too many left on the road now a days. and that grand prix. every one I see in a 2 door has broken exterior handles. these cars will never be considered classics. 30 years from now, people won't remember them. people will not be restoring them. kinda like my pinto. not hardly any left on the road, but when I take it out and about, people point and smile. "remember when we had one of those?" I hear that alot. and the kids these days think it's some kind of hot rod muscle car. it's not fast, not really desirable, but a ton of fun. and full of memories.

I'd always heard Escorts were powered by lawnmower engines. I was surprised to see it was true at 3:48. Plus, what is it with Pontiacs and Wisconsin? I think every other video has a mid-90s Pontiac meeting its end. I test drove one like the car at 5:56. Decent enough, but I went with something else. Dad owned a Grand Am. Horrible paint job, as it was peeling after 5 years, but it had a surprisingly comfortable back seat for a 2-door. The engine went ka-boom after he'd owned it for awhile. Still, I liked that car.

To me that always was an indicator of many things. 1. People who just dont want to or can't put money into their car. 2.Usually an indicator of the last owner of a car. We were going to get new tires at tax time but the transmission went. 3. Usually an indication of someone who makes less than 25,000 a year or a college or high school student or a retiree who is on fixed income and has to work part time as a Walmart greeter. 4.Or a fixed income person it was there final car before assisted living or the nursing home and the car like them was on their final journey.

The Chevy Van didn't have a space saver spare tire. Of course the rear end was gone too.

What makes the space saver spare tire even better is when they are bald with cords sticking out. My aunt and uncle had one like that.
