    What a great trip, I have never flown in the A350, but it looks like a very nice and comfortable plane, and the views from the flight were amazing, wonderful. Many greetings Andrew and thanks for all the work you do to share your adventures! :)

      It is a very nice plane indeed! Very quiet! Latam does not have this aircraft, neither does Air Canada, so I can only fly it around Asia. It is always exciting to see the views from a new part of the world! Have a great week, Ariel!

    Pre Covid they used to hand out hot towels which was so nice in economy. Plus a side salad that went with the meal. I wish they would bring those back. Loving your pictures out the window and your way of presentation, good luck.

      Never flew them precovid, so I had no idea of their service before - thanks for the added info! I think they should reintroduce both.

    Good trip. What I liked about the SQ A350 is that they have the good live TV entertainment where you can access to live sport, BBC News, and more entertainment. As well, travellers can use wifi over 10000 feet.

    Loved the flight review! SIA always provide an exceptional product when flying, the meals provided in this flight were lacking a little though. I have noticed this has been a slight trend when comparing services pre and post pandemic. Hopefully its an issue that's resolved soon as the airline industry comes back to some sense of normalcy.

    Fair comments, I hope to fly to the UK later this year with them. Disappointed to hear about the cleanliness issues and the lack of wet wipes, that’s where the Japanese are world leaders on this area.
    You didn’t mention about leg room in Economy. I understand the room is one of the best? I’m even tossing up Premium Economy.

    • @theglobalpeasant
      @theglobalpeasant  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I had no issues with legroom. The seats and space are constructed with long haul flights in mind.
      If you can get p. econ for a good price, I'd go with that...at least for one direction.
      Have a good trip!

    Good TR. short haul 2-3 hours. Regional 6-7 hours. Long haul 12 hours & ULH 15+ hours

    • @theglobalpeasant
      @theglobalpeasant  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Thanks! The qualitative terms are good to ballpark those hours. Geography must be take into account. For example, calling a 6/7 hour flight in North America 'regional' is a bit of a stretch.

    The quality of their meals seems to have degraded since I last flew with them about 7 years ago. Looking at another channel reviewing them reinforces my opinion. In 2 weeks I am doing Christchurch to London with them. Looking at the meals I don’t feel inspired.

    • @theglobalpeasant
      @theglobalpeasant  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I think the meal was better on my sin-hnd flight. They were testing out new packaging. Let us know how the meals are in your next flights.
      But for the high ratings Singapore gets, I am surprised at the meal service.
      In either case, enjoy your trip!

    I do love flight the A350 but...
    From my experience, Singapore Airlines is operating on its past reputation only. On my last trip with them a year ago, the flight personnel were equal to the others (ANA, United, Malaysia Air), but they fell down on every other aspect of customer service. Every step of the way, as I tried to point out their problems to them, the answer was always, "Just tell us what YOU did wrong and we will try to fix your mistakes." Their website was woefully outdated, and the English language version, instead of listing requirements for entry just linked to an out-of-date cartoon version of the Malaysia government's requirements from the previous year written in Bahasa Malayu, not English. Calling from the USA to their 1-800 number linked me to an Indian call center where the "associate" could understand and speak little English; he kept trying to sell me Covid testing, not realizing Malaysia didn't require it and even worse, he kept trying to send me to Singapore Air's "Partner" who provided testing (but only in Europe and Asia, not in the USA where I was calling from). When I got to the Los Angeles airport, the checkin staff were unaware of Malaysia's requirements and initially refused boarding passes to all Malaysia-bound passengers; some actually believed the staff and went home but those of us who waited were rewarded with boarding passes at the last minute after a hasty call to Singapore set the staff right. Every step of the way, even nowardays, Singapore Airlines reaction has been, "Please, we want to make it right for you. Tell us what you did wrong so we can help you do it right next time." They're living in the past; they need to fix present problems, not celebrate what they used to be.

    • @theglobalpeasant
      @theglobalpeasant  Před rokem

      At least you shouldn't have to deal with anymore corona requirements nonsense in the future. I have some empathy for staff with this regard as there were different entry requirements for different countries changing constantly.
      Since I checked-in in Auckland, I didnt have any interactions with ground staff.
      I look forward though to see Singapore, and all airlines, continually improve.
