Great tutorial! Learning AE for a month now, being an editor some things feel natural but the way you can go deep into compositions and all that still fascinates me. Now, I managed to replicate the exact technique to the letter, and thank you for teaching plenty of useful things along the way. (That Wave Map can be useful to many applications) One problem that I had: I couldn't ALT+drag the duplicated Shape Gradient layer to replace the previous. Also, when I did it manually, there was no CC RepeTile so I had to move that as well. It only took two minutes of understanding the workflow and where things could go wrong, but it was fun to solve it! One thing that felt weird to me (some explanation would be nice maybe, but I can google it on my own) is how we used Turbulence for the first Animator, Displacement for the second, but married them together with the background. It worked, but in theory it felt wrong!
Nikhil! I was initially simply going to use Wave Warp here. I loved your trick of using the shapes along with repeaters to create the displacement map, and then I loved how you used the blend mode of Multiple to put the map up top and then inverted it so you can see its shade on the comps below, giving the perception of depth! Amazing Nikhil! Absolutely love it!

The text circle that is supposed to interact with the bG text is only interacting for like two seconds then it just moves at the same speed and dose does not interact you think you can tell me what must be the problem?

I cant get my blob to move with my text. it stays stationary in the center. still looks cool but not the desired effect. any idea what I may have done wrong?
A bit late but I had a similar problem. The culprit was that I didn't animate the second Circle comp. For some reason when duplicating, the CC RepeTile wasn't moved as well. I simply pasted the effect, made sure that both circles are animated and it worked.
For the best learning experience without any compression please watch the tutorial in 1440P
