Those are really nice models, the buildings have their own unique look to them, not imitating other franchises. It would be too easy toproduce stuff that looks like Warhammer, Star Wars or any kind of SciFi like Dune ect. But no, they managed to create their own identity and design language. Yet i hope there will be more designs to represent different planets and Houses.
@@MechanicalFrog I would also like to see military forst and bases with either different or replacable markings for each House. You know, with Control Towers, Mech Hangars, Tank Maintenance and Landing Strips for Aerospace- and conventional Fighters and other craft. Com Towers, Defense Towers, Infantry Barracks ect. A Hospital or Med Center, because that could be used for both Bases and regular cities, maybe a HPG Center for if you want to include ComStar or WoB. The possibilities are ENDLESS!
@@sim.frischh9781 As it so happens, HexTech has designs for ALL of those things, all of which conform to the same design principles. We are lined up for three years of regular releases, and in that time we probably won't get through the entire existing catalog!

They were brilliant in using a font & text color similar to what is used for BT as we all recognize that as it jumps out to us BT/MW junkies, & makes it look like an official product. That terrain & structure looks great! I would like to see them offer a bldg 2 pack that has two bldgs of different heights. I was also going to ask what level they are at & think it would be nice if they had that imprinted on the structure, & in the same color as the terrain or roof. Thanks for the review, & thankful GF9 sent you guys this to make this review. Good to see you & Minifrog are having fun with it. Also what map are you using that has the biodomes?
I loathe map scale. Everything I make is mech-scale. I've also got a rules mod for Alpha Strike in the works specifically to make best use of HexTech. Time will tell if it's any good :P
These buildings seem like a pretty good product. The pricepoint is fair, the quality seems good, the paintjob is solid and I like the designs. From my experience, GF9/Battlefront are a really good company, who seem to be strangely obsessed with making and selling miniatures and board games instead of the usual miniature and board game companies price gouging and hostile business practice.
I have a few hills and ruined buildings bought back when Steel Warrior was making Hextech. I can't wait to pick up some new hills and roads to expand my collection.
Glass tables and children...yeah that sounds familiar. Ive got a little one and very little shelf space for anything other a few more lances of mecha. But...i really love the look of these. Thank you!
@@MechanicalFrog Y'all nailed it. It's a bit of both. I've actually tried to block out a properly scaled Megablock but it wound up being like ten feet tall so that didn't exactly work.
Just got a set of the rock steps. A criticism I have is how they are packed. Two sets of mine came cracked. Styrofoam inserts maybe a better shipping option. Or change them to a more pliable material that won't shatter.
As someone who has repurposed old Heroscape tiles for battletech maps (a game internbob & I liked back when it was New ... But kinda got frustrated with it's balance issues.) I'm curious if the hex baseplates would sit on top of them well. Definitely like the mountains and the Incomplete hex look is great. Agree that a pack of smaller Road Side lvl 1 building/lots (lvl 0 water pond ?) would definitely help the kit as a whole. I've been wondering what these were the GM at our LGS uses these in City missions and these aren't sold at our LGS our GM is the only one to handle all terrain for our BT games

I was talking to some friends to have various levels of 3D printers. They determined that filling a table with terrain would take the better part of a month for one person to do. That's not including errors, Clogs, etc. It's a matter of volume. And then there's the side benefit that these are already painted and have cloth bottoms.
Thanks. I think GF9 may be able to find a niche for the BT fans who don't have access to printers or those who really want high quality models that aren't as prone to breaking like with 3D printed resin.

The rock mounts remind me of Piestewa Peak in Phoenix, AZ. More cities than you might think have mountains either in or near them.

Don't have to count it out, yet! ALL of HexTech is available as STLs for at-home printing.
