Not trying to be "that guy" but the shell make-up is 4 outer plies of birch and 2 inner plies of mahogany. Cool kit!
22x18 was a think in the 90s, what you have and smaller is by far more common over decades. Also has more low end than an 18 deep
90s are 22x16 with only mounted toms. 22x18 (or deeper) started in the early 2000s.
1st time visitor to your channel - that's a great sounding kit. Congrats, and well done. I used to have a Reference kit I loved but sold a few years ago - I may have to start looking for a set of Session Studio Selects. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
I bought pearl 5.5 ×14 snare which sounds fantastic! Different tone than my Ludwig classic maple set. I'll tell you, l would buy pearl studio select set in heartbeat!

Hey bro!!! I love this video so bad even though I’m not a musician, but I love to support fellow musicians like you. The new Pearl ice Blue Oyster really suits you very well, it has a nice fancy & gorgeous look that it looks like when your having a stay at the beach or going out on a vacation to a place near bodies of water 😎😎🏖🏖💙💙. Also, I wanna know if there are other colors of it like I saw in the comments, scarlet red or I suggest to say, crimson red ❤❤, whatsoever, Lol!!!!!!! 🤣🤣 . Anyway moving on the video!!!!! 🥰🥰
My favorite drum in your drumset is the snare drum. It has a nice pitch & has a groovy style that matches the genre like hip-hop & other fast songs 💖💖. It can also suited best in rock version & jamming a lot loud & yeah!!!!!!! Has a nice funk tone that will make you go wild & listening to it makes you motivated so much!!!! 🥰🥰
My favorite cymbals in the drumkit is the Zildjian A 18” Crash & the Zildjian S 20” Rock Ride 🥰🥰. Lemme tell you what I love in these cymbals!!!! 😘😘😁😁On the ride, it has a perfect tone on its body that matches jazz genre & has an aesthetic & templatizing bell that has a super duper awesome ping sound that makes me go crazy 🤪🤪 & my body actually reacts & goes to a different level upon hearing it & yeahhhhh 🥰🥰. On the crash, both cymbals have an awesome brilliant bronze finish & one of my favorite crashes in the world 🧡🧡❤🔥❤🔥. I was wondering if the crash cymbal can be a crash/ride cause its bell is so thick & big probably has a good tone even though you didn't use it in the video 🤔🤔, but for sure you have already probably use it in your previous ones or other drum covers, etc? Lol!!!!!!!!!!! 😅😅
My other questions are: "What is your favorite cymbal in your kit? 🧡🧡 & What cymbal in your drumset that makes you go crazy & wild like the feeling of being sexy & hot like making covers or doing a performance,🤪🤪❤🔥🔥❤🔥 yoooooooo!!!!!!!!! that's kind of crazy one!!!!!!! " 🤣🤣🤣

The Zildjian S Rock Ride was 22" not 20" just to make it right...
I also love your ride cymbal groove on the Zildjian S 22" Rock Ride from 2:53-3:07, its the sexiest move I've ever seen 🥰🥰🧡🧡🧡❤🔥❤🔥

That's awesome man, you're going to love it! For this video I was using the stock heads which were Remo Pinstripes, but I have coated Remo Emperors on them now (I played them in my video that came out today if you want to hear). The pinstripes sounded a bit boxy for my liking, but emperors always impress me so I would definitely recommend clear or coated emperors. What finish did you get on the kit?

If the price is a big factor, then I would definitely go with the decade because you are still getting really great pro features with those kits. The session studio select is not twice as good as the decades, but it is a top-level kit that you would be happy with for really the rest of your life and is definitely worth the money. Both are really great options, you are going to get great sound and a lot of years out of either if you take care of them (and get the right heads and stuff lol)

I kinda like the sound... BUT... My Yamaha Stage Customs sound way better. (Half the price) Even with old heads, they really sing and have a lot of volume. After watching many reviews, these are kinda dead sounding to me. I do like the tone they put out, but I like more volume and sustain. Thanks for the video!
I have played a few stage customs over the years and I agree, they are very high quality drums for a very reasonable price. I definitely will be putting 1-ply heads on my kit soon because I am missing a bit of that open sound, but it is much easier to make a drum sound more open and resonant in post than it is to do the opposite if you’re ever in a situation that calls for that. Thanks for checking out the video!
