  • Learn how to make a super easy crochet hexagon using the Double Crochet stitch. Easy to customize into any size for your project.
    ABBREVIATIONS/STITCHES USED
    CH = Chain
    DC = Double Crochet
    SL ST = Slip Stitch
    PATTERN NOTES
    - Beginning CH-2 does NOT count as a DC.
    - If your hexagon begins to curl in, your corner CHs may be too tight. Try stitching them looser or adding another CH.
    - To double check your work and counts, multiply the Round # by 2 to determine how many DC stitches are on each side of the hexagon. (Example: Round 4 x 2 = 8 DC stitches on each hexagon side).

    I am making a knitted tortoise. The pattern calls for embroidered hexagons. Your hexagons will be way better as they add texture to the shell. Thank you for posting this tutorial.

    Hi please tell me how to do 1 meter using this pattern

  • @naturallylaurakathryn3463

    This is such a helpful and clear hexagon tutorial! My only question is to clarify that the chain 2 at the beginning of each new row (after the Slip stitch) does then count as a stich?

    • @crochettoz
      @crochettoz  Před 3 lety

      I don’t count it as a stitch or else I get a space there in between the stitches that I don’t want, but do what works for you! 🙂

    What do you do with the string that comes from the magic circle?

    Not sure why I’m having a hard time on round two - just not getting where to put my hook and what a corner is 😬

    I've never made a hexagon before. I'm going to try this. Can I do DC, ch 1, DC in the corners instead of ch 2? Will that mess up the shape of the hexagon? Thank you 💜

    • @crochettoz
      @crochettoz  Před 3 lety +2

      I tried that and the corners were not as sharp and they started to curl in (not lay flat) as the hexagon got bigger.

      I don't want the corners to curl so I will put a ch 2 in the corners. Thanks so much for your quick reply 😊

    Is It possible to do the Half of the hexagon?

    • @crochettoz
      @crochettoz  Před rokem +1

      It is! You just stop halfway and turn and work in rows instead of rounds. I have a tutorial on how to do it with a granny stitch hexagon.
