    Uther the Lightbringer, one of the OG Warcraft badasses.
    He's not shown, but Arthas was a boy at this time. He even met Varian when the Stormwind refugees arrived. Perhaps we'll see them in the Alliance side?
    The warriors Blackhand sent away never returned to the battle of Lordaeron.
    Teron would attack Dalaran, but much later as a raid for artifacts for Ner'zhul.
    Cross Island in this mission is never seen in WoW.
    The use of that "rise up" line is fantastic, eventually being echoed at the Wrathgate.
    Muradin being at the seige is an addition, but as he was the Bronzebeard emissary to Lordaeron (at least after the war) it is logical.
    That "for Durotan" goes hard. Until him and Ogrim, friendships between orcs of different clans was unheard of.
    HE SAID THE THING! I am content.

      @Marconius6 Před 7 měsíci +6

    Squeezing two missions into one was completely unexpected, as well as the Cross Island which was notably absent after Warcraft II. And I wonder what will be in the epilogue and how the creators tied this ending with the upcoming human campaign (and how Ner'zhul will recover the Skull of Gul'dan later). I won't be surprised that Nozdormu would appear and say that everything in this mission had happened in an alternate universe.

    • @Kummitusv6lur
      @Kummitusv6lur Před 7 měsíci +7

      I don't think it will be alternate universed. Stuff still pretty much lines up how events went in canon. Doomhammer made it to the Capital of Lordaeron and then Lothar and reinforcements show up, forcing him to retreat because of lack of forces bc Gul'Dan betrayal. And throughout the campaign they have set up important characters surviving, even at the end of this mission you see Uther ported away etc. Also canon related stuff like Orcs being unable to breach the gates of Ironforge.

    I am going to say this because apperently a lot of people dont understand how the warcraft 2 campaing works so here it is:
    THE ORC CAMPAING IN WARCRAFT 2 TIDES OF DARKNESS IS NOT CANNON
    For some reason back in the day blizzars made campaings in parallel, this means that despite the fact the game has 2 campaings only one of them is cannon. In warcraft 1 was the orcs campaing, in warcraft 2 was the human campaing. They only changed this model in warcraft 2 beyond the dark portal, where both the human and the orc campaing are cannon

    • @Kummitusv6lur
      @Kummitusv6lur Před 7 měsíci +5

      It was very common in strategy game campaigns back in the day. There was essentially one campaign, where you just picked a side. Sometimes you had mirrored missions, sometimes unique ones, most games had a mix of them. Later developers started reconsidering this approach either going for every faction getting their own story or had you play through faction campaigns in succession for the full story. I think the latter actually started with Starcraft.

    • @retloclive9118
      @retloclive9118 Před 7 měsíci +2

      IIRC, most of the Warcraft 2 orc campaign actually is canon. It's just the last two missions to destroy Dalaran and the Capital City that are not.
      The logic is that Guldan/Chogall's betrayal weakened the Horde to the point that they couldn't finish off Lordaeron's last cities, which provided an opening for the Alliance to begin their counterattack to push the Horde all the way back to the Dark Portal.

    • @witnessforchrist7778
      @witnessforchrist7778 Před 7 měsíci +4

      The orc campaign is mostly canon. Only things not is dalaran doesn't get destroyed and the horde ends up losing at Capital City although they were looking like they would win out early on. Other than that the rest of the campaign is canon, aswell as all of the human campaign and both xpacs. Some of the missions between campaigns the human equivalent takes place first, for example dun modr the human side occurs first driving back the black tooth grin clan, and then the orc side takes place where the black tooth grin clan counter attacks and this time successfully destroys tol barad.

      Like in Warcraft 1 the orc campaign and human campaign are considered different timelines. Unlike in Warcraft 1 where it was mostly the Orc side that was considered cannon, Warcraft 2 it's mostly the human campaign for both the base game and the expansion that are considered cannon.
      In the end the Horde failed to take Lordaron or Dalaran with the Alliance main army coming at them from behind. Doomhamer makes the decision to retreat back to black rock and send a small force to deal with Guldan at that point.

    This campaign is glorious, as is Chieftain Nral's gameplay and editing. This makes me want to play it, but my PC is old, so I'll play the original WC2 instead.
    Wanna know what I miss??
    *The wolfriders. I hate what they did to them in WC3, they should be stronger than Human knights, as in WC1. Rend Blackhand is the only wolfrider here.
    *The old catapults. In both WC1 and WC2, catapult hits were lethal and an overkill to almost every unit. In this mod, they do a little bit of justice to them.

    • @jabodetabek1337
      @jabodetabek1337 Před 7 měsíci +3

      @@otaviolobo7989 So for the case of warcraft, there is many lore deviation that are "official" meaning blizzard written,
      in the lore the horde launched attacks from 2 sides, the arathi basin marching towards the the capital city via the king's road and androhal and a force advancing from the south in fenris isle,
      as far as I know it wasn't until the siege of lordaeron that Doomhammer knew about Gul'dan, hence why he sent the The Black Tooth and many of his clans to chase him, effectively making him weak, in this version the clans are mostly united in the siege, which allowed him to have more manpower than in lore he had.
      The elves never really cared unless their home is attacked, hence why in Act 14, they didnt go to the offensive simply because its risky, and its not their problem anymore now that amani forces are weakened.
      The horde in the lore practically made a desperate assault in the hinterlands to break the siege, which resulted in many of their armies destroyed.

      It does strain suspension of disbelief a bit, but the novelization tries to justify it as the Horde having stretched itself too thin thanks to Ghoulish Dan's sudden betrayal and a fresh army under Lothar's command is able to drive the Horde back just before the capital falls. setting the stage for the Alliance campaign.
