Hy. I have been accepted for Embassy Recommended. I contacted 2 uni but one of them rejected and one has schedule an interview. I have also applied in my third choice uni after rejection from 2nd uni. I am worried that i may not get the LOA. I am feeling so much stressed at the moment and i have only 18 days to submit LOA. Are there cases of students failing to receive LOA?
A quick question that for a undergraduate student it is necessary to study all the syllabus or degree (subjects) in japanese language not in English language?
Depends upon the course.
Most Undergraduate programs are in Japanese with some exceptions. E.g. Ritsumekan university.

Hi there are many Arts and humanitarian courses in Japan for masters. Thesis is not a requirement, but you can make a strong proposal of what you want to do in your masters. Also you can explain your course work or any relevant academic or non academic activities.

At the embassy there will be only languages test and then interview.
If you apply through university there may be written exam sometimes but for many universities it is an interview.

There is no absolute passing criteria in the test, I think it's relative and they pick top 40/50 candidates for the interview.

I am a humanities student currently in grade 12 so suppose I apply for ug programme and I get selected for the entrance exam after the document screening will I have to give the exam of maths, physics etc. even tho i haven't studied it in 11th and 12th? Because on the site the sample papers are only available for English, Maths, Chem, Physics and Bio
If you opt for engineering undergraduate then definitely you need to take exams for these subjects. Unless you find a non-engineering program in some university.

you have to be really good or near fluent in English if your Japanese is not fluent because you'll be either do your program in English or Japanese

You have two options.
1. MEXT embassy track for undergraduate.
2. Find a university that offers scholarship directly through university and has your targeted program. Example APU

I am in contact with a professor from Kyoto University for the master's in material synthesis and he is willing to supervise me if I get admission. he told me there will be an entrance exam on campus and my lectures will be in Japanese. but the university website is against these remarks. This definitely needs to be clarified. If enough courses are available in English, then you don't need to take Japanese language courses to get the degree. Kyoto University is one of the top. If you get clarification about the courses and it makes sense to you, then I think it's worth going for it.

It all comes down to the courses universities in Japan are offering in your preferred language. If you find such course/degree there is no other problem I think.

It depends on the track or scholarship you choose. In the case of MEXT, they have undergraduate scholarships as well and you have to take subject tests (Maths, Science) at the embassy as well along with English.
Look into the Understand MEXT Embassy Recommendation Track on Japanese Embassy in India' website.
And I think Japan is a good option to study gaming and animation, but probably many programs would be in Japanese. In case of MEXT scholarship, they would teach you Japanese in first year and then you will start undergraduate from the university in Japan

There are some scholarship for undergraduate in Japan. One option is MEXT Embassy for Undergraduate. Check the schedule of application from the Japanese Embassy website of your country.
Also, look at the website of Ritsumekan university, they have software engineer undergraduate program in English. You may also look for scholarship applications there.

For example I took English language exam at the embassy, they didn't tell us any exact passing criteria. They just told us Pass or Fail. I think the passing criteria also depends upon the overall score of candidates in that test (relative). So all I can say is to just do your best.

Hi Neha, congratulations on getting shortlisted. Good dressing doesn't mean that you have to wear western clothes or suits. Just dress modestly in shalwar qameez (and scarf if you use). Just choose simple and plain colors and you are good.

I think the following points may be helpful.
1. When you explain your research theme, also mention names of some relevant labs and research centers in Japan.
2. Give some specific and personal examples while explaining your interest in Japan.
3. Tell them that you are really interested to study in Japan and reasons to prefer MEXT over other scholarships.
4. Express your interest in learning Japanese language and culture by mentioning some examples.
