It's kind of adorable to see an actual, innocent playthrough. And it also makes me want to scream into a pillow whenever I see something completely missed or overlooked. good vid!
Why this was Bethesda’s big embarrassment was not because Obsidian did better with their IP that was originally theirs, not, that they had only 18 months to make it, nor that they had to make multiple ports due to their stupid stipulations. It’s that the game is beloved and good even with the hellish development cycle it went through, and the DLCs were even better. Bethesda took what would have been the perfect Fallout game and clipped its wings over and over and over until it was a hollow shell and even then it was a work of art afterwards, but it’s like only having the top half of the Mona Lisa. Sure you get the smile… but something’s missing.
The Mona Lisa metaphor is a bit wrong. It's kore if the Mona Lisa didn't have the frame and was instead painted by Da Vinci on the floor like a child and with crayons instead of paint. It still looks incredible but it went through one hell of a process.

Yeah that Caesar lime of him saying "I'm just fucking with you" is great, every time he does it I have to do a coin flip to see if my character is won over and joins the Legion based on that line alone
In my playthrough, I was lucky to only ever have 2 crashes, and both were at points where too much was happening at once... Until I started the Caravan DLC, where the game crashed twice in the first hour of play.
New Vegas is such a masterpiece despite how little time Obsidian was given. I wonder how things might have turned out if they were given more time to flesh out certain rushed questlines
Honestly, given that every game Obsidian ever put out has been only 2/3rds complete, a delayed New Vegas would probably just be what we have now, but with more quests.
@@HeavySighSA That's just kind of how obsidian is, I really wish they could set more realistic goals. The Outer Worlds is a really good example of how their overambition can be problematic, if they had a smaller scope then it would have been a much more polished game. The good parts are really good, but then the game just kind of flat lines once you get to the part where it becomes very obvious they started running out of budget and time.
I know this video didn’t perform well but I still hope you cover the DLCs one day. This video has helped my anxiety a lot for some reason and when I wake up from nightmares playing it is just able to calm me down and just. Yeah. Thank.
My brother introduced me to this channel through the Punch-Out videos, and I honestly love the writing and delivery. It's very reminiscent of Gamechamp3000, one of my favorite creators. Keep it up!
I love how the narrator's tone changes drastically once the character learns how to think good. Not to mention getting me actually invested in the story of Mr. President.
Note for the creation engine: Its actually really good. Building and developing for it would be a dream IF Bethezda ever compressed or cleaned up the engine. Most bugs are caused by the fact the engine has not been cleaned and hooks remain from the first skyrim. In order to place a texture, the creation engine must recall a stupid amount of commands for different games. Instead of deleting the current commands, bethezda just says if fail, move to next one. This means if trying to simply put a texture on an object the game must 1. Try to find the texture needed from the first skyrim. 2. Realize it's a fallout game. 3. Try to find the texture from the next skyrim game. 4. Fail and move down the list. 5. Place an invisible texture on the current object, and try not to trigger the in-engine error checker. 6. Repeat for all of skyrim and fallout games previously released. 7. Hope nothing went wrong in one of the 12-ish checks. 8. Place the wanted texture on top of 12 transparent ones. 9. Do all of that thousands of times a second, and hope the program never messes up. This process is repeated for basically EVERYTHING in game. Same for commands, instead of global commands, each one must be specified for a certain game. There is an ineffective memory dumping, so once loaded nothing truly unloads, causing the game to crash as you can't poorly render an entire area 24/7. The engine has ineffective short term memory, meaning it has to recall basically everything every time it needs something instead of preloading. An all of that on top of the creation engine rarely being able to use multiprocessing, due to the ungodly amount of tasks it tries to pawn off to the gpu and cpu, without dividing them into smaller steps, its a wonder nothing explodes. The creation engine is easy to implement and develop for, but horrible to actually make a program work
There’s a NV fan artist called Worthless 6 who’s interpretation of the Courier is scarily accurate to how Bumbles played Mr. President. So now I can’t help but imagine W6’s Courier having Bumbles’ voice.
I've been meaning to get back into playing new Vegas, but it's been two years and I have so many mods I've forgotten what I've done already in a lot of them. (Except New Vegas bounties, because new Vegas bounties. I actually remember I had to do some parkour to reach one bounty because the bounty cave was in the same empty, desolate chasm of the map as the secret enclave vault I had installed, so I had to parkour to the top of the one vanilla cave in the area, jump over an 80 ft drop, and land on the edge of the canyon walls, higher then anywhere else in the map. Turns out the enclave vault didn't have a top since planes don't exist anymore, so I shimmied my way behind the cave door to a smaller, more "cannibal-y" cave door leading to a completely differ cave. ...I'm starting to see why the enclave guards outside "despawned") So an hour long New Vegas video just stratches that itch I've been having for years without going through the effort of remembering why I was killing these five military commandos and turning their secret bases into baby's first french catacomb! (Seriously, with the amount of open-air Canyons acting as "secret" bases in Nevada mods use, I'm wondering how much of the population even know eachother exist. Gotta be less then 50%.)

I love New Vegas, and it sucks that now a days on modern computers it runs even worse than usual. Sure, it crashed a lot originally, but not nearly as much as it does now. Thank goodness there exists mods to make crashing almost 0%
Most of the crashing seems to happen when you have a lot of save states. I had maybe 4 crashes before hitting 100 manual save states, and over 10 after
Honestly, New Vegas and Majora's Mask are some of my favorite video games of all time, and it reminds me of a lesson from a music professor I had and she said, the limitations will set you free. Meaning, if you restrain yourself, on purpose or by circumstance, it forces you to be creative instead of just taking the tried and true easy method
Fun Fact:If you lockpick the door behind the counter in the dinosaur in Novac,there will be an absolute fuckton of toy rocketships and dinosaurs,along with a unique 5 round 5.56 pistol called That Gun (which i love) and a bunch of sunset sasparilla,you can actually use the rockets in the Come Fly With Me quest as the Isatope!
note: karma also affects the specific perk you can take only on level 50 (which means it kinda doesn't matter as much if you use logan's loophole trait) another note: some challenge grant you perks, for example the day tripper challenge gives you a perk with the same name that makes chems last longer (chems are basically drugs) 3rd note cuz why not: i bought all the dlc at once and the shortcut to the executable says "Fallout New Vegas PCR" with the PCR probably standing for pc remaster, and yes i did have a lot less crashes (in a idk probably 8 hours of a save file, i had only 4 crashes with half of them being on the map from old world blues dlc)

I think something might be wrong with your computer, or maybe you have some unstable mods, because the crashes really shouldn't be that frequent. Not counting the occasional softlock, I've only crashed like 3 times in my ~80 hours of gameplay.
I'm genuinely curious how long you spend on weiting your videos. They are so well-written and filled to the brim with grest jokes that it feels like you spent like a month thinking of all the haha funnys thst you cram into your video.
On my, like, 5th watch of this video, and somehow only just noticed the "back-namara to McNamara" line. That's on the same level as "lacerate his ass-erate" from Blood Will Tell.
OK, so I recently got back into New Vegas, and I'm running on a rig that was built about 3 years ago. And one mod seems to have fixed that: 4GB Fallout New Vegas. I'm thinking New Vegas runs on an extremely limited Memory Allocation for the game as a whole, and that mod I listed seems to enable something that expands on that memory. Before it was so bad that crashing was happening after 30 minutes, to even 3 seconds after loading into the game. With the 4GB mod, though, I only got a crash after spawning in 500 Easy Petes and testing a Fat Man on them.
At least when you killed Lanius it waa more "honorable" than when I fought him. I died, multiple times, so I decided to drop every explosive charge I had at the foot of the stairs, shoot him from a hidden state and detonated the charges right under him as he walked over them. I couldn't get anything off his body in the end, but he did his best Team Rocket impression.
I cannot understand but also entirely understand how Mr. President survived using a sword in many gun fights, cuz while yes bullets hurt a lot, you wont get hit with bullets if you confuse your opponent so greatly with your tactics that they forget they can shoot you

I think something might be wrong with your computer, or maybe you have some unstable mods, because the crashes really shouldn't be that frequent. Not counting the occasional softlock, I've only crashed like 3 times in my ~80 hours of gameplay.
I'm genuinely curious how long you spend on weiting your videos. They are so well-written and filled to the brim with grest jokes that it feels like you spent like a month thinking of all the haha funnys thst you cram into your video.

On my, like, 5th watch of this video, and somehow only just noticed the "back-namara to McNamara" line. That's on the same level as "lacerate his ass-erate" from Blood Will Tell.
OK, so I recently got back into New Vegas, and I'm running on a rig that was built about 3 years ago. And one mod seems to have fixed that: 4GB Fallout New Vegas. I'm thinking New Vegas runs on an extremely limited Memory Allocation for the game as a whole, and that mod I listed seems to enable something that expands on that memory. Before it was so bad that crashing was happening after 30 minutes, to even 3 seconds after loading into the game. With the 4GB mod, though, I only got a crash after spawning in 500 Easy Petes and testing a Fat Man on them.

At least when you killed Lanius it waa more "honorable" than when I fought him. I died, multiple times, so I decided to drop every explosive charge I had at the foot of the stairs, shoot him from a hidden state and detonated the charges right under him as he walked over them. I couldn't get anything off his body in the end, but he did his best Team Rocket impression.

I cannot understand but also entirely understand how Mr. President survived using a sword in many gun fights, cuz while yes bullets hurt a lot, you wont get hit with bullets if you confuse your opponent so greatly with your tactics that they forget they can shoot you
