I think I like the Equinox better than the Blazer
I do as well!
Same battery pack on the 1LT that's great news! If I end up getting this vehicle I'm going for the same trim level as you.
Waze needs to add the state of charge with the ability of doing route planning automatic just like Google maps
I just bought the 2RS with super cruise and really enjoy it. I feel like on the RS there's a lot of attention to detail with the stitching and i think the all black exterior looks sick on the rs. Also with google maps built in it can route plan for you and show you where to charge how long and what your state of charge will be when you arrive.
I like the 21" wheels. Our LYRIQ Debut Ed comes with them too. Gives it a pretty cool bump in profile look, IMHO. Out of curiosity, were there any EVgo charging plans offered? Ours came with 2 yrs free unlimited. The one button recently added to the LYRIQ is the garage door opener. it now is in the dock. Big improvement. I am thinking the EQUINOX will be getting it soon too.
No EVGo plans, just the car! Garage door opener is already included and is on the infotainment!
I really like how your car looks. I'd like to get one, but we are still sticking with your hybrid as we take too many long road trips.
We just had a Buick Envision, before that a Kia and now a Kia again. I will agree that the Hyundai/Kia lane keep assist/lane centering is one of the best compared to other brands.
I think you can set the super cruise to only change lanes if you use your blinker. Check it out, like your videos 👍🏻
You can! Just like the concept of auto, but I’m definitely considering turning it off. Want to keep testing it to observe the behaviors.
I'm debating between the Equinox and the ID4. If I consider interest rate, both will be the same price after financing. I'm gonna test drive both, but with your experience with both of them, which one you prefer the most and why?
I am going to do an Equinox vs ID.4 video in the next few weeks, but here is my quick comparison.
ID.4 :
-Better Suspension
-RWD (I prefer the RWD and like the handling better because of it)
-More Cargo Space
-Better Charging
-Doesn't Overheat when charging
-2024+ Infotainment is great
-Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
-Battery preconditioning
-Plug and Charge at EA
-Staggered Tires (Can't rotate tires)
-Slightly Higher quality (I'm talking razor thin difference, both are great)
-2024+ Has great acceleration for RWD
Equinox EV:
-Suspension is fine, but really big road variations can be felt far more than the ID.4
-FWD (Don't love it, feels lethargic when accelerating, handling when accelerating while turning is not great)
-Less Cargo, but a decent sub trunk compared to ID.4
-Charging is erratic, seems to be more consistent in mild temperatures (hopefully software can fix it)
-Over heats when charging, especially in hot weather
-Infotainment is awesome!
-No Apple CarPlay, Android Auto (I don't really miss it, but I miss they add apps for the Apple Products native on the Infotainment e.g. Apple Music and Apple Podcasts)
-Plug and Charge at EVGO, EV Connect
-Will have access to super charger network sooner than ID.4
-Also, has battery preconditioning
-Square tires setup
-Great quality of interior
-Acceleration is fine for what the car is, but nothing to write home about
Hope this helps! I will be doing a full comparison where I will do a side by side!
Does anybody have the mesh dashboard reflection problem? And how do you fix it?
Yes it is on every car unfortunately. I wear polarized sunglasses and do not see it. So that’s one fix…
The indicator lights can be turned off and it does show state of charge
It does? Great! I’ll have to pay more attention next time.
@@theaverageev it’s not a criticism. It’s just clarification. Great video. I wish I had to courage.
@@mondogomez5 That’s what figured! I was walking away and noticed it and didn’t think to look at the charger to confirm.
Boomerang Challenge.
I never understand why designers insist on keeping such squared, less efficient shapes. Glad it’s working for you though. EV Equinox is better than a gas Celica.
What a comparison 🤣🤣🤣
You forgot to show the rear floor can drop down to gain space. AND have not seen any video of someone pulling out that DIVIDER to expand that right side pocket.
Definitely forgot! Whoops 😬. Just tried to pull the divider out and it does not easily at all. But theoretically can.
Thanks for checking. Just be sure not to break it if you think it comes out.
I believe GM has OEM mudflaps and they look really nice.
I really like your sound effect of the look of the lightbar when it’s charging… dooo dooo doooo doooo dooop, doooo doooo dooo dooo dooop.
🤣🤣🤣
If people could hear me when I’m in the car by myself they would think I’m crazy!!!
Any reason you chose the Equinox EV over the Ioniq 5? Looking at both currently.
Thanks for reaching out. One of the main reasons I chose the Equinox EV was because I knew this was a car many would be interested in and I wanted to provide content to those individuals about this car. Not the best answer I know...
The Ioniq 5 had always been my dream EV when I finally "settled down." There were so many Ioniq 5 content creators already it didn't make sense for me to get it.
I recently had an opportunity to drive an Ioniq 5 and I like it! But didn't love. The software wasn't great and not user friendly. The ride was a bit too wafty and I didn't love the seats. All of these things are subjective, so I would recommend to go test drive it.
Now while I didn't like those things, I did love the charging performance! It was absolutely amazing.
If you are look between these two cars I would definitely drive them both first like I said earlier. I would also recommend during that time to play around with the software to what you like better. At the end of the day you will adapt to the software, so it is not the biggest deal.
The Ioniq 5 has CarPlay and android auto, while the equinox does not. This might be a deal breaker. I haven't minded not having Apple CarPlay, but again that is just me.
Lastly, if you are considering driving this long distances often or cannot charge at home, I would go with the Ioniq 5. The Ioniq 5 is going to save you so much time an hassle.
The Equinox charging is below average, but if you can charge at home, mostly commute, and roadtrip once or twice a year it might be for you. The Equinox is actually great for my purposes since we have a better roadtripping EV in the ID.4. I think the Equinox feels better build and is more comfortable, plus there are generally more features than the Ioniq 5 trims!
Hope this helpful! They are both great cars, they just have their pluses and minuses depending on your use case and preferences.
@@theaverageev Thank you so much for this! I'm fine with the Google interface and it will be mostly a charge at home commuter so I'm leaning Equinox EV, also due to some nice lease offers currently. Definitely prioritize a comfy car too. Hopefully software updates help charging away from home soon!
How is the sound system?
Not the best but not the worst unfortunately. I bumped the mid and bass to make it sound okish.
Is it a 3LT front wheel drive or all wheel drive
FWD, I can’t believe I didn’t say that 🤦♂️
@@theaverageev the flaws i see with this car no regular door handles like honda prologue and no regular push button start like prologue and i dont like how the infotainment isnt flat its curved only towards driver. other than those its good i would of got fwd myself better range and less cv axles to replace.
Dude, saw one on the street for the first time and the back looked straight like a Macan. I’m impressed. I’m own BMW i4 on a lease but I might consider this next
It looks great! I definitely like the looks more than ID.4 (which I also like!)
Any plans for list this on Turo? I see you’re in MD!
Not for me! I see far too many horror stories from people that do Turo.
It would be interesting to know if you can export your Plug Share routing to the Google GPS? Also according to my salesman at the dealer the car won't precondition the battery prior to get to a charging station even if one is selected in the GPS, only a manual preconditioning start is possible?
That’s not true about the preconditioning. When using the Google navigation it absolutely automatically preconditions. You can also manually precondition if you want.
Does adaptive cruise control work in traffic? My wife's subaru does and I love it but some cars will reach traffic then turn itself off. Also garage door opener is on mirror?
I’m trying to remember. I think just ACC will bring you to a stop but if you sit to long you need to press the accelerator. If you have super cruise it will stop and start. I’m pretty sure that’s what happened. I’ve been using super cruise so much I can’t remember.
The garage door opener is on the screen for me!
Why air conditioning for the phone if there is no wireless charger to warm it up??
Super weird I know!
My understanding is there will be wireless charging in the future at that spot but it wasn't ready at launch.
@@FredSEd-x9d Correct
Charging Curve is the Pitts. I will keep my Qty 2. 2023. Pro S Rwd. ID-4.
Love the ID.4! Hoping Chevy fixes this!
I an a VW/Audi Retired Representative 37 years. I am also a 5 year Retired GM Rep. So I get employee GMS SUPPLIER PURCHASE and also and VW Group Vehicle. VW. Audi. Porsche Bentley. Ducati. Cuppa Skoda. Etc. But. I was considering a 3 LT Equinox EV. But really 1.2 hours at a DC Charger. HORRIBLE. when the ID-4 38 minutes
@@THEVWAUDIELECTRICGUY Yeah it’s not great……….. love our ID.4.
Dual motor on this car is way faster acceleration
Yours doesnt have the sunroof where the 3LT i saw had it
I did not option that, but you can add it for $1,500.
Thanks I just buy AWD
Pretty sexy! Congrats on your new car
Love it! Really like the looks after having it for a bit!
Theres no wireless phone charger in the Equinox EV???
Nope
Move videos on the charging!
Editing it right now!
Have you figured out how to have the handles not pop out every single time you walk up to the car
I have not!
Do you if equinox ev have a heat pump?
It does not
@@theaverageev Where did you get that information? From everything that I have read, all of the GM Ultium EVs have a heat pump.
@@ML-jr4nsI have never seen heat pump mentioned in media press releases or their website. Usually a heat pump is something that an automaker would advertise to boast efficiency. I can neither confirm nor deny whether there is a heat pump. I can reach out to Chevy for a response.
You have a FWD or AWD?
FWD
Not an option it comes with it
Correct you have to add it!
@@theaverageev well I was told the 3 LT came with it and if you didn't want it you could request that
I ordered mine in the website configurator. It was an addable option not standard in 3LT. I’m not sure what your dealer is talking about? But if yours has it then you’re good. I did not request to have it removed from my order though. Sorry for the confusion!
Just get the Tesla adaptor and use Tesla chargers.
Not available for GM yet, but soon! I definitely will though.
