    I’m 47 and been licensed and in the industry for 26 months now. Spent 20 years in the Navy and had a technical background but decided to be barber instead of a Walmart greeter as my retirement gig 😂. Killing it since day 1 in the shop due to my work ethic and experience 🤙🏾

    I just turned 50 and am pursuing a barber license through an apprentiship with my local barber. I've cut my hair for 32 years, and all three of my boys' hair, one is 24, one is 10, and one is 8.
    I decided I wanted to start cutting more hair for my friends, family, and coworkers. So , 1yr ago I started. I got some business cards, just got my Baaaaarbers Boppr card, and started pushing free haircuts on all my social media's and everywhere I go to get going. Clients keep coming, and things are looking really good.
    Thanks, MarvyMarv, for all you do. Keep up the great work!!!

    This is a lit video. I turned 43 in Sept '23, 2 weeks later I was in barber school. My teacher was 83 at that time. He's been cutting hair and still cuts hair for 60+ years. He's my biggest inspiration that I can last a long time in this business. What I love most is seeing all the OGs in the comments around my age that are doing it. Let's goooo mis viejos!!!!!

    I agree with this message. I got my L’s in my 30s and in three years I was making 90k. I cut everyone from kids to senior citizens.

    I’m 42 did my 1500 hours in my 30’s but wasn’t mentally prepared and didn’t take it seriously didn’t even take my test to become licensed. Cut in a shop for a few years for a terrible shop owner. Going back to school in October with a refreshed mindset and work ethic to start over because I know this industry is what I truly love and now I’m dedicated in a whole new way and know exactly what I didn’t do correctly. I blamed others and it was actually my lack of professionalism that caused me to fail. Now I’ll win because I looked inwards and take full responsibility for my actions and know what to change and also what to do. Big ups to this channel found you a few days ago and the content and conversations have motivated me even more to get in and kill it this time around. Keep up the great work Marv 💯

      I’m so glad to hear this. Happy for you man. I’m 26 yrs old as well and I’ve been wanting to do barbering since a teenager but talk myself out of it. I don’t even know how to cut hair and I kinda feel like I’m starting so late brother

      @@leoortiz661 how is your barber journey going now? Also I was told that the best teacher is myself and that it’s best if learn how to cut my own hair first to get comfortable and especially if I have no one willingly to allow me to practice on them. How you feel about that advice that was given to me?

    • @leoortiz661
      @leoortiz661 Před 3 dny +1

      @@LoneWolfe_XX pretty good bro I’m in a barber shop I went through an apprentice program so I got in a barbershop around 2 months after I started, but my haircuts have gotten so much better with taking walk ins and my own clientele. Honestly bro i can’t even cut my own hair lol I’m scared to do that, I started cutting up my brothers and close friends, even if you don’t have anyone willing to pay for it I’m sure someone will take a free haircut. You got this shit bro the hardest part is taking that initial step to start in a new career, and its scary for us since we’re getting older but I say go for it!

    Shout out to the uso Marv and my peps in the comments…I’m 34 and been working in the fishing industry for 15yrs in Alaska. And I’m going to a barber school soon as foot gets heal up and everything. Barbering was always in the back of head, and now as I’m getting older..I think this a best option for me to retire in!!! I cut my sister’s kid hair today. My wife rate me 7.5 and sister at 8. I literally almost cry cause I didn’t expect that high of rating. And the hair cut was a mid taper fade. And I cut his hair with me on crouches 🩼.😂😂…it feels good cause now I can take it to the next level when I can..all praise to God and the Holy Spirit.
    Stay blessed my people!!🤙
