    All people saying Argentinians don't appreciate Messi and he should leave are such hypocrites and don't even get your facts straight. We are more than aware of everything Messi has done for us and he is a true idol in our country, we owe it all to him. There's only a tiny minority that continues to question him, like the ones in this video, and unfortunately that's the only thing you see in the media. I suggest you look up the "Messi Don't Go" campaign that was going on here when he wanted to quit the national team.
    But try to put yourselves in our shoes tho: wouldn't you feel sad for him? Wouldn't you feel frustrated over the fact that your team has the best player in the world and for some reason or other he just couldn't win one title, when he clearly deserved to win many of the tournaments he's played? We don't even want to win because of Argentina, we just want the WC for Messi. And of course we don't deserve him, but he's Argentinian and loves his country and that's a fact. We're so grateful for him and beyond proud that he represents us.

      @brokenHelghan Před 6 lety +39

      Stupid argument, why do you think Messi was born in Argentina and not in Spain, or Germany, or France or in Djibouti? It wasn't sheer luck. Messi, Maradona, Batistuta, Riquelme, Aimar, Kempes, Di Stefano, etc. all a product of the Argentinean fotoball culture. There would be no Messi without Argentina, just as there would be no Ronaldinhon Neymar or Pele without Brazil.

    • @montyburns2335
      @montyburns2335 Před 6 lety +15

      So you're saying Messi should've played for Spain to win the WC? What does that say about a 5x Ballon d'Or winner? Maradona's Argentina was far below Messi's Argentina yet he still delivered.

    • @ULchiZ
      @ULchiZ Před 6 lety +19

      brokenHelghan he is definetly not just a product of Argentinean football culture... he moved to Barcelona when he was 13. I would say he more of a product of Barcelona and la Masia culture.

    • @brokenHelghan
      @brokenHelghan Před 6 lety +15

      ULchiZ yet he grew up admiring Aimar above anyone else, developed at his younger years in Newell's academy and grew up playing football everyday in his city. That wouldn't have happened had he been born in Barcelona. And he only moved after it was clear he would be something special, they helped him grow in La Masia but they didn't make him. Otherwise tell me why Argentina has produced so many great similar talent whereas Spain hasn't (to the same level of greatness at least). Don't you see the pattern? There is no other player that's as similar in playstyle to Maradona as Messi. Both are Argentines. Do you think that's a coincidence?

    • @montyburns2335
      @montyburns2335 Před 6 lety +3

      Noe Garcia El Chapo No it's not. Maradona only had Valdano who was a good striker but the rest were below average. Prior to 86 no one believed Argentina would make it to the semis. They over achieved because of Maradona's influence.

    Hi, I'm argentinean, and want to thank you for such an amazing video. The editing was superb and I feel Seth Rogen captured most of our passion and our way of thinking except for one thing:
    Messi doesn't owe us anything, and the great majority of this country feels it that way.
    Now, who's bigger? I believe they are equals on terms of quality, but Maradona had something special that you can't describe... He was a larger than life figure, that would somehow inspire a city like Napoles, or a nation like Argentina, to believe in the impossible, to believe that it doesn't matter how poor you were when you were born, or whatever circumstances you had growing up, you can always dream, and dream big.
    I'm not saying Messi doesn't make you believe in that, but is just a matter of charisma and leadership, that's what makes it different.
    I still love both obviously, and I would LOVE for Messi to win the World Cup, but if he doesn't it's not on him, he's done more than enough.
