CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Richard (Tom Ewell) has a dream of seducing his neighbor (Marilyn Monroe) by playing Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Like thousands of other Manhattanites, Tom Ewell annually packs his wife (Evelyn Keyes) and children off to summer vacation, staying behind to work at the office. This particular summer, the lonely Ewell begins fantasizing about the many women he'd foresworn upon getting married (in one of the fantasies, Ewell and Marguerite Chapman parody the beach rendezvous in From Here to Eternity). He is jolted back to reality when he meets his new neighbor--luscious model Marilyn Monroe. Inviting Monroe to dinner, Ewell intends to sweep her off her feet and into the boudoir. Things don't quite work out that way, thanks to Ewell's clumsiness (and essential decency) and Monroe's naivete. Still, Ewell becomes convinced that his impure thoughts will somehow be transmitted to his vacationing wife and to the rest of the world, leaving him wide open for scandal and ruination. In the original play, the husband and the next-door neighbor did have an affair, but both play and film arrived at the same happy ending, with Ewell and his missus contentedly reunited at summer's end. Featured in the cast of The Seven Year Itch are Robert Strauss as a lascivious handyman, Sonny Tufts as Evelyn Keye's former beau, Donald MacBride as Ewell's glad-handing boss, and veteran Broadway funny man Victor Moore in a cameo as a nervous plumber.

The most perfect acting as a sexy girl. No stars can act as sexy as in this scene. Sadly, they maybe thought that good acting was only the acting in such sad crying drama. Marilyn Monroe really really deserves an oscar for her role and her acting in this movie!!
Her character, he is the lusty old husband, who turns to jelly, She is the woman upstairs, who does not get his advances, she isn't a stupid dumb dame, she let's just say is in her on little world, and in that world she has no cares, the film is corny and a carry on film of that time, none of them are natural, it is not what the film is about.
That way of acting and that much emotion had made her the most beloved movie actress up to today.

Apparently she DID come to believe in herself upon meeting the Strasbergs whom filled her up with confidence and faith in herself and she acknowledged this about them and she started to be Assertive afterward upon the Method teaching and the self belief instilled in her through others' encouragement (the Strasbergs built her up.)

This was the last movie featuring the "old" Marilyn. She took a year off, went to the Actor's Studio, formed her film company and changed her whole style of acting. Her next movie was "Bus Stop" which should have gotten her an Academy Award nomination . For seemed to campaign against her so they could keep her pay lower. The only time that she was paid like her contemporaries was weeks before she died.

They didn't have the extensive plastic surgery they have now back then. As ksmia says, she had her nose & chin done. The chin implant actually failed, & was absorbed back into her face,so technically you can't even count that. She also had her hairline shaved back, but that was VERY common back then. Tyrone Power and ava Gardner had it done as well. She was a natural beauty and her nose job was very minor. See 'before' shot of her and there's not a huge difference.
