  • I replace some worn track rod ends (aka tie rod ends) on my Vauxhall Combo van. If you have vague steering response and/or feel wandering steering, then your track rods ends may be responsible.
The good news is, they are quite easy to access and the removal and refit process is simple. The bad news - its hard work and some brute strength may be needed. Also.. you will need to get you wheels aligned after replacing the track rod ends as it will almost certainly be altered whilst doing this repair.

Good vid, but I gather you didn't see the Allen key hole in the bottom of the track rod end bolt to hold it to stop it spinning 😜

Not all tie rod ends have an Allen key hole. I’ve just bought a new tie rod end for my mk2 combo and the new one doesn’t have an Allen key hole. Not sure about the old one but the new one doesn’t so a pry bar is the only way
