Hello you lovely lot! How are you keepin’? Unfortunately the Halloween shop that Barbs was working in last year burnt down. Unfortunate accident apparently. Nothing stops our Barbs though! You see as luck would have it, a lovely little fella who knew Barbs from the ole days also knew another lovely little fella by the name of Norman. Norman was big in telly in the 70’s. He’s not been doing too well over on his allotment lately on account of some dodgy seeds someone sold him. Anyway, he decided to try his hand at this ere CZcams seeing as he’s not quite ready to put away his old directors chair. As usual Barbs was in the right place at the right time and one thing lead to another! Welcome to a new series called ‘Barbara Knows’. Barbs hopes you enjoy it a lot. She's not available to comment right now, something about some local merchandise going cheap down the pub. I’m sure she’ll be happy to read your comments later though.

Oh and Norman was worried about copyright so Barbs wrote and performed her own little song, she didn't want anyone taking down her videos!

I'm american everything, the humor is almost anti humor in america but I guess you British have a dry yet nuanced sense of humor that is contrasted to Americans brash and vulgar humor

Most ASMR videos make me cringy/rage, but you're calming. You don't have slurping sounds or obnoxious liquid sounds often. Its, for the most part, just soothing sounds.

A Kayfabe Whoa, did I complain? No, i complimented her for the fact that she mostly creates soothing sounds and not gushes or slurping. It is disgusting, not sorry. And getting hit in the crotch with a ball? I'm not twelve. Just because I don't want to listen to someone squishing shit doesn't mean I watch juvenile content.

I'm a foreigner so I didn't know what Cockney was. But still, this was the most heartwarming thing I ever watched. I love the honesty of this channel. Few have such substance to them.
Can somebody please tell me what the genesis of Cockney rhyming slang is? I get that it probably was to be clandestine from outsiders, but I don't get why anyone would need to say "stairs" in a clandestine manner.
corhydron111 apples and pears often meant to go up the stairs as in to someone's bedroom. So it would be used as an innuendo in a way "she took me apples and pears" you see the connotations of that now. But yes it is a complete mystery to me also

My hubby is from the East End. I still struggle with there cockney slang, been with him 11 years. It's a very important part of Londons history. I'm very proud to be from London. But it's very confusing if you don't know anything about it.

It's more like stage cockney, theatrical like, know what I mean? Your accent isn't too far off the mark but you slip into your own twang occasionally. I am a cockney and have never heard a realistic London accent from out of towners, especially Irish, Scottish or Americans. Think Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

WhispersRed ASMR You are nowhere near that terrible!! Even I could do a better job and I'm an American from Texas who has no business doing any British accents. (Although apparently when I talk with someone from Edinburgh for awhile I slip into a slight Scottish accent, so....)

My grandad was born within earshot of the bow bells too. He's a cockney through and through but was forced to speaker more so posh when in the army. He's 89 now and been living here in Ireland since 1963.
