More mighty jingles moments, the average penetration value for that gun is 121, jingles must have checked the wrong gun ("QF 2-pdr Mk. X" instead of "QF 2-pdr Mk. X-B"). Valentine's turret might not be that strong, but 78mm pen can't reliably go through it each and every time.
Jingles being Jingles is the best part of Jingles. That's why we love him! :)

British Matilda is still my favourite tank in WOT. Loading speed of 1.75s is wonderful. British Matilda is my choice when I just wanted to play WOT leisurely.

How do you get loading speed 1.75s? With brothers in arms and premium consumables, I arrive at "only" 1.85s
@@Nadarr91 I probably mistaken. It was somewhere around that speed, 1.75s-1.85s. And my loaders is fully 'upgraded'.
I did focus for my Matilda to be a fast shooter.
I haven't play WOT for a while now. Plus, the install size for the game is so big, and at the moment my PC don't have enough space to install it.

78mm Pen ? the gun with the adapter has 121mm (with standart ammo), this makes it useful harassing even Tier6 tanks.

such an old timer moment to still recognize valentine to be a tier4 with the 75mm long gun, but its long ago, and i just checked yes, premium valentine tier4 still.exist, but i doubt thats what Jingle was referring to :)

only premium I ever bought in WoT, just wish theyd actually thought about it and put the improved engine that the normal matilda got in its theoretical upgrade but it got the basic engine which even more screwed its speed over

The Valentine was historically the tank that replaced the Matilda. As Jingles says, the Matilda was better in almost every way, but crucially the Valentine cost half the money to produce. Like the Matilda, the Valentine was a slow infantry support tank with a low top speed. The Valentine was the most produced British tank in WWII, with 2,000 being made by the Canadians. At the battle of First El Alemein over 100 Valentines charged the Afrika Korps in a (slow) cavalry charge and performed very well, most German shells bouncing off them.
The VIII-X had the 6lb QF which should tale out a 'Tilly
I saw Matilda, and I had to click. Very fond memories of this tank.
The Matilda is great even at higher tiers because the 2 pounder still works, especially if you have some gold rounds in the bin for tougher targets. The penetration and shell velocity is just that good and the DPM isn't bad. The armor does ok at tier 5 but not at all at tier 6. So at higher tiers you have to snipe from concealment, but thankfully the Matilda is a pretty small tank.
Seriously, when I just want to have a good time in WOT, I load in my Matilda. If I'm top tier it is going to be a blast, and if I'm bottom tier I can still find ways to make the tank work. The only time it is a drag is if you get stuck on an enormous map because you spend the whole game driving somewhere.
The Matilda and T29 are the two tanks that I think of when I wanted to have fun in WoT. Haven't played in years but those tanks still hold my best memories of the game.
For me it was those and the Tortoise
It was like watching Robocop march through a drug factory; they'd shoot wildly and the Matilda would calmly pivot and proceed to rip them apart with pinpoint shooting.
i LOVE playing the Matilda! but believe it or not i actually prefer playing against higher tiers in it, i choose the largest group moving forward and follow them and because the Matilda is so slow everyone else gets to the front line first and tunnel visions each other allowing you to find a bush and start putting lots of lead down range quickly, an IS1's hit points melt quickly when they dont pay attention to a Matilda lol
Either you are talking about the premium tier V russian matilda or you somehow play a tier IV tank vs tier VIIs

the only tank i can think of is the IS, and that's always been tier 7. you might be confusing it with the KV-85.
@@purpleneons your correct i just looked up the USSR tech tree and yea you are correct but i've been playing since 2014 and back then you had the the "3.5.7" match maker which ment you use to face a 3 tier spread and i do fondly remember facing IS tanks all the time, and 1v1 with a Matilda vs an IS it was a no contest the IS would basically one shot you into oblivion, but if you arrived "fashionably late" and got the side of an IS in a Matilda you could basically "machine gun" their hit points away.
A lucky Matilda with no sealclubbers fooling around in their S35s. Amazing.
I remember when I saw one of your first Matilda replays way back, and thought to my self that I gotta have me one of those. Only thing was that I never really seemed to find myself in the situation of being top tier :D
Sadly its not quit as good of a tank as it used to be. The number of tanks that easily pen it with gold ammo is rather large now days and in the world of goldspammers its rare to see games like this.
The damage he recieved happened during the engagement with the Stuart that came up his right side while he was already engaged with the first Valentine. The Valentine took the opportunity to put a shot into him while his focus was on the Stuart.
Ah, I loved the Matilda when grinding up the British line, and recently re-bought it. Sadly the MM doesn't love it as much as my memory tells me it used to...
The Mayor problem, of the M3Lee, in this Game is, that it can use ONLY 1 of it´s three Guns ! At least in my Opinion, that is holding back/down , this specific Tank.
Years ago I got 11 kills in my Matilda on Himmelsdorf, that was a big adrenaline rush at the time. I think the video I made about it still lingers somewhere on CZcams.
The Matilda used to love being up-tiered. My Matilda crew collected 8 Levaslaiho's medals BEFORE the 3/5/7 matchmaking, when your medium tank needed to kill three enemy vehicles two tiers above it.

@Jingles I've been subbed for quite some time and watching your videos often before that. When you began using this same intro to these videos I wrote lyrics to the music that I personally think encapsulates the game well. The words are " Do you like tanks? I think Jingles is wrong here. The Matilda is one of the few tanks at T4 i absolutely loved in either matchmaking. Sure, it is better against tier 4's but even against 6s: Just change the role from assault to a long range sniper and due to the great pen (for T4), velocity and accuracy you still can absolutely contribute to any game.

The funny thing is that in War Thunder, the M3 Lee is actually a really excellent tank. It's got decent mobility and armor, but it's also got incredible firepower, especially since the turret on-top of the vehicle is actually functional. So, you have a 37mm gun on a turret that works pretty decently against the kind of vehicles it faces, and a 75mm casemate gun that can deal with more heavily armored targets and guarantee an instant kill.
Thought the Matilda had 120 mm of pen with standard ammo?

I know you said several times that the Valentine is a great little tier 4 light tank. However, I will not succumb to your Goebbels-like strategy of repeating it enough times and the populace will believe it.
The Valentine is tier 3 and has been for years. If it was once tier 4, that was long ago.
Tip - if you look up at the team lineup it tells you which tier the tanks are.

Yeah, whilst OP was giving the Stuart the 'death of 1000 cuts'. The Valentine got off one shot that penetrated for a whole 53 damage, which was all OP lost all match.

Never played the Matilda myself, only the valentine, but as someone who played a lot of Panzer IC for fun back in the day let’s just say this was a tank I didn’t want to see on the enemy team

on the part about the M3 Lee. i would say the most accurate representation of that tank is in War Thunder, it might not be the best thing in the game, but for its BR it certainly performs well, i actually got to the M3 Lee in War Thunder and went OHHHH FUCK because of my experiences of the tank in World of Tanks and then was dumfounded when i started bouncing A LOT of 50 and 75 Low Velocity rounds from the Pz III's and IV's

And yea, aim time doesn't mean time to fully aim... But that's one of the big secrets hidden by WG, so I don't blame Jingles for not knowing.
Amusingly, in British army use, the Matilda was replaced in service by.... the Valentine (which was, like the Matilda and the later Churchill, simply regarded as an "Infantry Tank"). The Valentine has been bounced between classes by Wargaming because of the crew size and not its intended role. By the criteria of the British Army the Valentine should be tier V, with the 6pounder gun and larger turret. ps. Jingles, you missed out the Matilda Black Prince - which is a Matilda hull with a Cromwell turret.

With the Little John adapter, the pen on the Matilda goes up to 121, the 78 pen is on the 2 pdr. without the adapter.

It's a great little tank, this Matilda.
I so rarely had top tier games in my Matilda, I decided to count the tiers over 100+ games in it. For every one tier 4 game, I was getting two at tier 5 and 3 at tier 6. It soured the experience, but I did get my first Kolabanov medal in it, which was nice.

What people fail to realize. About the M3 Lee in WoT's. Is if you treat it like a Tank destroyer. It will come into it's own. Yes the Armor is shit! But it makes a good bush baby. Years ago when I played WoT. It was on the Prokhorovka map. That I had a record setting match. In the M3 Lee. I killed 11 Enemy tanks with it. Because I started too treat it as a TD. Instead of a tank.
The Matilda is my to go to tank when I just want to have fun and not take the game too seriously, if you're top tier it can be 5+ kill games all the time.

I tried uboat last night, decided to give the deploy mines just botom right of UK's coast. My spider sense was tingeling so i dove down to periscope depth, swaped out the torpedos for mines and launched them and discoved they look like really big fat but short sosages. XD Suprise sosage just for you! LoL! XD And 2 catalinas flew over me one i think it was a destroyer was camping out where i was. Idk if he knew i was there but he was not movin then he drove of, good times. When i was done the batery was low so i had no other options other then gtfo and then the tiny destroyer decided to aply for the role of main character and not at all drive over the mines i have deployed, looked like that anyway lol. And another ship joined idk if it knew about me. But i had to surface the submarine and then full speed away, good times. Now im joining the french flotila, not sure thats a reward lol. But its easier to go out to sea from there and not have to go around denmark, uk, scotland and ireland to get out to sea ffs.

4:00 yeah you were right Jingles! one of the Valentines hit his side for 53 damage while he was focusing the M3. Hit him a couple/few more times but didn't do anything lol. I'm in love with world of warships (been playing for about 6 and a half years) but thinking about picking this one up again too.

2:39 78mm penetration ? That's the standard gun. The upgrade has 121/145 mm penetration , same reload time but slightly higher aiming time
Love the Matilda. I’ve had some good games in it. When it’s top tier it’s great. Unfortunately you usually get stuck at bottom tier. The speed is its weakness. It’s a fun tank to play for the crazy rate of fire.
Hello Jingles, little correction... 4pdr with littleJohnadapter has 121pen..with gold 144....and the valentine is nerfed to tier 3 now.... But Mathilda is still fun.. Top tier or with a map with something to hide the hull behind.. 😊
I love the Matilda when it’s top tier. When I play it, my nemesis is usually the PIII J which can pen it quite easily. I thought their J made a mistake not helping the lights near the Matilda at the start when they were close together

I have 100 games played in a Matilda. I've never once had a game where I didn't instantly die of gold poisoning. I wanna know how this guy gets a game without gold spam.
