  • The Craft Fair Booth Review Series continues with Episode 14, featuring My Purple Door Designs - based in New Jersey. Maureen runs a booth that features many varieties handmade crafts including home decor, stationary items, and much more. One of the goals in this booth review was to identify ways where Maureen can downsize her 10' x 10' outdoor booth to a smaller indoor spot. In this video, I'll talk about tips on how to find the perfect balance between putting out as much inventory in a smaller booth as possible while also making sure to keep it looking tidy & eye-catching.

Buffalo plaid is the black and red pattern. You almost had it, John.

What would your suggestion be for tablecloths when you have multicolored items? I do embroidered kitchen towels, animal and patchwork potholders, and animal bookmarks, just to mention a few items. Thanks, Julie

Solid color for sure, absolutely no patterns on it if you have multicolored items. Try and go with a color that contrasts well against your items. So if you have mostly brighter colored items, then go with classic black tablecloth. If your items tend to be darker, then that’s when you’d want to pick a lighter color. Keep in mind, white can sometimes be tricky to keep clean, but not impossible. Invest in a lint roller and use that to keep tablecloths looking clean. Also try not to fold your tablecloths when storing because creases show easily on solid color tablecloths. Instead, try rolling them when in storage.

Thanks so much. I’m thinking I don’t want to ever do just one table! There is a big sale nearby but it’s $350 for one table for the weekend. I’d never be able to sell that much to make a profit

Woah! Yeah that’s pretty steep especially for a small table spot! They’d have to have BIG crowds for it to *maybe* be worth it 😂

That is really a hefty price! Is it a large event?

It does have huge crowds over three days but I’m just not in that league. My sewn items are cheap.
