Excellent! I have the exact same player experiencing the exact same problem, not record to hard drive and can't access the saved videos on the hard drive (corrupt hard drive?). I am going to attempt to replace my hard drive based on your video. Hope I succeed. If not, may I contact you for repair?
@norcal715 - Update - IT WORKED!!!! I ordered and received my new hard drive today and followed your tutorial. The tricky part was getting the "Next, Skip, 0,7.9" code to work.... it took several attempts of powering off-and-on and re-entering the code, but it WORKED! I thank GOD for you, as I love this DVR; it is a relic; no one makes DVR's anymore, so THANK YOU!!!!

The real time videos are fine because logically it should result in more frequent videos being posted. Right?
