The Unlock Tool doesn't recognize the phone in fastboot (the computer makes the connection sound though). Do you have a usb driver or anything installed on your pc? Or do you have any other idea how I could fix that?

I'm in same boat as you. Windows 10 makes connection sound but doesn't show in Xiaomi unlock took. I had installed previous (ADB) fastboot drivers before and it works. But my device isn't shown in unlock tool. Anyone had any luck?

when i boot in to fastboot and as soon as I connect the usb it comes out of fastboot and shows on the top Press any key to shutdown. Device: poco f1. any help ...?
Try with other cable if not help try with other pc.
plug the device into a usb 2.0 into pc, if you dont have one,then just use a cheap usb 2.0 cable then it will work.

I'm stuck @7:35 . Can't connect phone to the unlock tool. If I connect in regular mode my computer recognizes: k40pro+. When I disconnect, enter fastboot and reconnect to the computer the computer installs a MTP device or Android driver and unlock tool never recognizes the phone. Yes I am signed in with my account in the unlock tool on PC. Can't get past this device driver issue.

I didn't get weel one thing... After I click "UNLOCK" for the first time, and the program tells me "Please unlock 168 hours later. AND DO NOT ADD YOUR ACCOUNT IN MIUI AGAIN, OTHERWISE YOU WILL WAIT FROM SCRATCH." what do I have to do?! Do I have to log out from MIUI account on the phone and then do the unlock process again (after a week)? Or can I normally use the phone being logged with google, miui account and so on and then redo the unlock process? Thanks
Everything is explained in the video but again just don't log out from your mi account and don't reset your device. And yes you can use your device in this period.

And the PC recognizes it but when I open the unlock tool it does not show up even though I'm signed in properly and makes the sound

Problem is with usb drivers. Search for fastboot drivers. Or download mi flash(not unlock) and it will install drivers. If still not working try to disable drivers signature enforcement on Windows 👍

finally a really in depth tutorial! Thank you! I do have an issue though. I connected the phone to the computer using the cable that came with the phone, but it doesn’t show up in the mi unlock tool. How can I fix this?

Is there any bypass of the Wiping data? How can I flash the TWRP without it? Or, how can I backup the whole phone? Before I unlock it? (with everything like apps data, files like photos) I hate the MIUI 12.0.10 so much that it makes me to switch the while phone instead of waiting for another week and installing the Lineage OS. The MIUI 12.0.5 (and 0.7) were the last best versions and then from 0.9, everything started to fall apart. Gestures missing, no multitasking, quicker battery drain. (WTF Xiaomi)
Best way is to copy everything to your computer and also use Google backup. Sadly you can't bypass wiping data when unlocking bootloader this is rule for every brand.

In my case, I forced hard reset my redmi 9 (miui 12) phone because I bought it second hand and the seller cannot rember his MI account password. Because of that I forced hard reset/wipe data the phone so that I can sign in to my own mi account. But after the hard reset a message popped in the screen saying that my phone is locked because it (the device) was associated with another account(the account of the seller) and it is asking for the password of the account. The cellphone repair shop was able to unlock it using an unlock tool but the thing is I can't use my phone freely. Everytime I use my phone the VPN must be on so that when I connect to the internet using data or wifi the phone won't relock. I can't use some apps like ShareIt because it needs the VPN to be turned off. Will this procedure work for me? Thank you in advance for your answer, Mr.
Just contact seller and use repair password option.
I have a sim card on my iPhone, can I take out the sim card from my iPhone and put it to the xiaomi and then when I'm on my 168 hour waiting time I can take out the sim card and put it back to my iPhone right?

You can lock it with simple fastboot command.

Just follow video carefully. Add your account in developer options with sim card. Everything is in video.

After the it gave me the 168 hours wait warning. I just turned off my phone, and not used it. Can I just take to boot mode and click unlock.

Use your phone normally just don't log out from Mi account. After 168 hours just connect to Mi unlock and select unlock.
I plugged my Redmi 9 and it doesn't show up on the menu at all. I installed the drivers and it still doesn't show up at all. Using the original in-box cable.
Are you sure you entered fastboot mode?
Me too, did you enter fastboot mode when you connect cable? If you don't know how, make sure phone is off. Hold down button first and power, keep holding both buttons down till you see fastboot logo

I'm trying to unlock a 12s Ultra's bootloader, but I'm having trouble. After verification, the MI Unlock programme states that it cannot unlock. The only instruction is to add the phone to the account in the developer settings; there is no 168-hour wait time displayed. Yes, why not?
The banking apps only didn't work for some people but it was because their devices are rooted and they did not set it up properly. Unlocking the bootloader doesn't really affect anything besides giving you the option to root.

hello, i hope you see this. when i try to add account on the mi unlock status on my phone, it says that it has successfully added the account. but when I go back, then click the mi unlock status again, it shows that I should add an account again. It just loops in that situation.
If you added account successfully one time it's enough. No need to repeat the steps. Be sure you are using Sim card with mobile data on.
