멋진가족 좋은 사람들 방문해주셔서 감사합니다
Thank you for visiting your wonderful family and good people
Nice work, Doc.
Need him to hook me up shoo 😂
We loved your work
The people at your shop are precious! 🥰🥰 What a wonderful place!
This was amazing and I loved your work ❤
Alena is such a lovable person! She instantly lights up a room as soon as she enters it. I absolutely love them together. They create a perfectly balanced environment for their children . It’s very wonderful to see.
She's such a fun, vibrant person, her children and husband must feel so lucky everyday
For sure.❤
It was sweet how respectful and interested Joe was in the barbershop. You can tell he's a kind person
Will someone pls tell Joe most of our hair braiding styles comes from Africa but it's not just our hair cultures it's everything from music to dance tanning lips bbls speech slang you name it and we're still the most hated ppl on this planet and most of our culture was created here in America when it comes to entertainment live the culture but never support the struggles we Indore around the world
I think so too ❤ing It 😊
Thank you Alena for coming through… sometimes it takes the confidence for others to speak up for you to get what you want done. He asked for dreads but they didn’t feel like they could possibly do a good job for it to stay. And you came and said do it anyway!
yes, you could tell he really wanted dreads from beginning
Joe is one of the coolest Koreans that I have ever seen! He keeps everything real and will try almost anything to keep his woman and children happy. Alena, you got yourself a good one. Enjoy life!
I really appreciate how Alena is herself no matter where she is
Joe looks good with his dreads.
Indeed
me too
this the one!! unapologetically black🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
Love Alena, how Christ is first in her life, being her own advocate, being a Lioness Mom, and supporting her kids. Thank Alena and Joe, for sharing your lives with us.
I'm impressed that the Korean shop has such afrocentric products and the gentleman is skilled!
*I don’t know why. They’ve been biting off blk culture. This isn’t new🤷🏽♀️*
😂 I find that to be funny since it's Asians who OWN AND run all the hair weave industry that so many people are shocked by this notion. Dreds didn't start in AFRICA. You never see any african art or artifacts depicting dredds. It's not cultural appropriation to be of ASIATIC Descent and wear dredds. Why? Because it is a hairstyle first worn by the MONGOLS, then the S.E. ASIATIC INDIANS who are known as YOGIS.
@@sskknight321that was just from not combing hair.
They study us
@@sskknight321our hairstyles aren’t the same as yall. Asians are just like white ppl want to take everything from our culture while keeping your own culture sacred.
Hi Joe! As an African with really long dreadlocks, I find it so cool to see how it is done on straight hair and I can really see that you have an appreciation for the culture!!❤ anyone who thinks otherwise is just jealous!
As a braider myself, Dr. Dread has skills!!! That perming technique was so cool to watch!
I like that after parenting 8 kids together they are still so playful with each other!
Imagine... View in original vlogs, how strong, decisive, and dedicated Alena was/ is, in keeping her family and the man she eventually took as her life time partner and love, thus holding everything together to this point... She has bing through the ringer/fire... YET... she held strong...God continuous Grace and Blessings on this family in all they do. Joe is a bless man in his support and dedication to his wife/ children, sister-in-law's extended family and friends/supporters...My full admiration 🙂 Love always 🙂
Hey Joe, As a Jamaican raised amongst rastafarians (my brother is a rastafarian priest. Rasta is for everybody. It is important to remember that it has a spiritual or faith based root. However, as long as you don't call it 'korean knots' or something else and you give credit to its origin its not cultural appropriation its cultural appreciation! Dr Dread clearly appreciated the culture so no worries!!! It looks good on you! One Love!
Rasta is for everybody?! Girl what?! Omggg
I absolutely agree with calling the style what it is without renaming it because that’s disingenuous.
Go touch grass
Chile
I am a Jamaican, what are you talking about? I know Joe is not culturally appropriating but the hairdresser is.
I just love the fact that the barber was inspired by Dennis Rodman with all of his crazy hairstyles back in the days! Dennis Rodman inspired a kid somewhere in the middle of Korea. That's love for black culture. He exuded love and respect for the culture and so does Joe lol. Love to all the Korean Kings (and zaddies 🫣😂)
For real!!!
Alena just enters a place and lights it up with her positive energy and that’s so beautiful 😍 plus Joe your hair looks good on you
she sure does and he lit up when she entered too, lol. I liked his hair too
Africa's influence is embedded in so many societies throughout the globe.❤
U mean stolen
@@Youralllate
The guy said the whole story about this hair style yet you said he stole it 😂😂😂😂
@@jojoahmd123 HE STOLE IT HE IS ASIAN U PEOPLE LOVE TO PICK AND CHOOSE
DREADS ARE FROM HINDUSTAN
😂😂i just love how joe is being himself and coming out of his comfort zone in korea .👍👍
Coming home is an address where the heart lives.
There was, initially, a quiet awkwardness. I think Alena is a type A personality/extrovert who really commands a space. Joe is kind of quiet and subdued and they maybe were thinking, wow, his wife is outgoing, friendly and sociable…not who they probably envisioned his wife to be for this quiet man. What I immediately thought was, they have no idea their history of knowing each other since high school and the kids they share.
You can tell all the love Joe have for his wife and children ,way to go Joe you look amazing
First off I love how they are gentle and how they want to make sure that you're happy with everything they're doing it looks so relaxing
Joe seems to be very comfortable in Korea. Its really beautiful to watch.
I love everything about this! From the Barber’s wife loving how beautiful Joe’s head is to the Barber actually understanding 3c,3b & 4c hair. Joe, this style looks amazing on you!! Alena, you are so hilarious to me!! Great episode guys!
Whenever Mazelee uploads, it's always an event of the century!!
You know it
This happened 4 months ago btw. This video is ancient lol
L
Right
Absolutely 💯
I love Joe! he so cool and laid back.. yall have the coolest family dynamic ever.. yall are so loving and free..
The kids reactions sent me!! 😂😂 Akyli’s facial expressions never disappoint.
It's just like those videos of kids reaction after dad shaves his beard. They didn't recognize him as "dad" right away, and it freaked them out a little, lol
I love the new due & love how honest your family was about it I love how you are bold enough to try different hairstyles so thats whats up. I wish yall nothing but the best you guys as a family is amazing to watch
Much love to yall
I love that Joe went to pamper himself and the whole family does as well I saw the spa scenes at the end of the premiere.
Looks great Joe. I truly respect that you came out of your comfort zone to learn and understand the different hair textures of your kids…. Awesome!
26:29 Beautiful Joe! Only a sensitive, loving, kind man would go through so much to try to undetstand his kids hair and how to handle their hair. I love you guys channel and have been watching ii for a long time. You have an amazing family and you are so patient. Truly a Christian man! Pat
I love Joe's hair! Alena, have you ever read Octavia E. Butler's books. Her sci-fi/futuristic books are filled with characters who are multi-cultural. The way she describes her characters is so genius, subtle and natural. Her writing does not "scream", "This character is Asian and Black", or "This character is Latinx and white", or whatever the mixture is. The descriptions just emerge from her words. Your family is what I imagine when I read Octavia E. Butler. Here are a few titles: "Xenogenesis", "Adulthood Rights", "Imago". There are lots more, but these three have very interesting looking characters. I love the way you support each other in your individual desires for yourself. Now, that is unconditional love!
I enjoy watching you ALL grow and appreciate each culture. Continued Blessings.
Love watching. I as an retired cosmetologist learned today how to prep straight hair for locks ,lock extensions or the textured look. Thank you.
Dr. Alana is so full of life and energy...love her! Joe's locs were nice. They just made the ends a little too cookie cutter but other than that, they looked nice. He seemed to really like them so I hope he keeps them in. Blessings to this lovely family!
Joe your new hair style looks so good on you so OWN IT, SPORT IT, ENJOY IT for as long as you have it…just be HAPPY! “Being genuinely happy with how we look is infectious and so irresistible that it will draw others into your joy of it!” (Always remember this life-learned tip from a 70+.)
This is a great way to end my day. Love your videos!
I like how honest the kids were cause yeahhhh lol
😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yep
I love this! Thank you for sharing. I love the reference that Joe made about knowing what his children’s hair feels like. What a great experience. I know Alena will hook you up when the locs fall out! 😜
Much love to the family ❤Joe,I love your hair and the fact you will be able to understand how Alena takes care of the kids’ hair. It’s truly a process to behold ❤ I was very impressed with Dr. Dreadlock and how he was inspired to learn about hair through watching MJ and Dennis Rodman. Also noted-his wife’s skill with those clippers-she’s so dope! 😍❤️💯God bless you all🙏🏼❤️
I had no idea that Korea was so down to earth and brought forth such awesome people, Joe you're such a gentle spirit and the fact that you wanted to experience their
experience (your families) says a lot about your character.
Well this has become the younger generation in Korea, similar now in Japan. Social/Cultural norms do shift as it seems with each generation...I've noticed this as well.
I totally agree .. it pulled at my heart. ❤
Joe is just feeling it and smiling, more than ever😊... He looks happy and satisfied. I'm happy for him.
Such an awesome family. You go Joe 🎉🎉
Great content!! I love this. Makes me realise that there’s more to Korea hey! Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your experience
Alena is always a vibe.. I always love her laughter❤❤❤
The Koreans saw Alena and they froze. Thank God that Joe & Alena met and had all their beautiful kids. More power to the family.🙏🏾
What are you talking about? Froze?😂
😂 what a reach ….
What? They were whatever about it..
Literally what I thought
Froze why?
I love Joe's hair!!! Looks good on him pulled back!!!
Loved the video. Joe I love how you are willing to try new things. Alena is so supportive. ❤
YOUR HAIR LOOKS GREAT, I say as you continue to grow it out keep locking it. It was pretty cool to see you and your kids now share the same texture.
As a fellow dreadlocks, the only thing i say is tht it should have been shorter. But love how you embrace new ideas. after they permed the hair, the next would be to use the eco gel along with a tail comb, section the hair just as how they permed it and form the same patterns but with the use of the gel and comb
I love this family ! 💕
I love the look and think Joe is feeling it. I hope you keep it a few months at least, it will grow on the family. I love how they were all so nice even the ones that didn't really like it or know what to think. Joe and Alena's energy together is beautiful.
Joe, I love how you are open to trying different things. You are all about inclusion and embracing change to understanding your multicultural family . I Love it!!
The whole family is so cute!!
When he said Joes hair was 3a/b I lost it🤣🤣😭
Your family blessed so amazing to see two cultures com😢 together so beautifully ❤❤❤
Alena I love the way you compliment your husband. Joe is very humble, loving, and kind. You two are a great couple, and parents. Joe your hair looks great and I pray that the Lord will continue to bless this loving family in Jesus Name.
Aww the babies are beautiful ❤
This looks like the coolest salon. I love the hair Joe
His hair looks so good! He looks like a celebrity! That style on him is a keeper!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Hello MazeLee Family! It's always good to see you and the family.❤😊
I love when Alena was explaining ‘edges’ to the barbers
They knew it as finger wave style a more professional way of calling it as this is what it truly is edges is the slang term
An eye opener! Wow! I would never have imagined that this kind of thing would be done in Korea! Big up to the hairstylist.
So this is suddenly cool now but others are getting fired for wearing their hair dread or natural.
I love this style on joe it’s really suit him well …Alena is a beautiful soul embraces joe and embodies confidence anywhere
Wow, they did a good job! Amazing how they can experience our hair texture and vice-versa.
Your hair looks awesome Joe ❤❤❤
I'm digging the curls. Cant wait to see the final product.
I just love them and their relationship is just PURE LOVE!! His hair is cute!!
Really makes you think about how cultures evolve, are shared, made better and stronger! I’ve only ever heard of dread being referred to as bad-looking, unprofessional hair coming from black people around me . So though it’s weird to see a small community in south ko taking to it so strongly, makes me proud that people of other cultures can see the beauty in it and treat it with respect, not just appropriate it for a song... And props to Joe for trying something different and for wanting to understand this bit of black culture that is African hair, better ❤ ‘best husband and father of CZcams’ ! Edit: Also he looks so happy with his new hairstyle😂
TRUTH
please tell me which laws and policies Black people are passing laws that discriminate against locs! oh wait white people are the ones making laws and policies discriminating against locs u self hating ignorant
I got scared at first when Joe's head came out looking like ramen noodles 🤣 Really considerate of you, Joe to do this to understand your children's hair.
Is considerate the right word?
@@FearofGodmomit most certainly is.
Loved the video. I just installed my second set of locs on my own. Loving the journey all over again. Welcome to the club.
This is my favorite episode so far. You two are so cutee together 💜
MazeLee is amazing!
I love this it reminds me of being in California, black people drinking boba tea , and Asians wearing locs , and white people Rapping took me back home ❤
Southern California? Venice? Santa Monica?
Loved this, thanks for sharing your experience. Yall look great for doing all you do. Aging beautifully while building the family ♥️
The Dreadlock Shop did a good job. Joe looks different. I'll need to get use to him with dreads. Elana likes it and that's what's important. I want to see how the kids like it. Joe and Elena have such an amazing family. Thanks for the video.
Thanks so much for the update video. Hope you all are enjoying Korea. I am keeping up with your daughter in college.
Hi Joe, when your oldest daughter said it looks like strings hanging off your head. I haven't been able to stop laughing since, I'm sorry. I know your intentions were good, but all styles are not for all people. Oh, and then the Son, he was so serious! They said what they really felt. 😂
God Bless you and your family! ❤
Love this guy!! He's just so cool!!

Alana, yours and Joe's family is one of my favorit to watch. I'm not surprised he did that. I love him he's a mans' man. I've been watching your show since Ajudi (ms) was a baby.😢I really admire you, you are the BEST. The best bunch of kids ever. when did Amyah go back to Korea, that's my girl.

Omg they are tripping Joe 😂 it looks so dope! I have locs so I’m always interested to know how other races with straighter hair get this process done, so thank you for sharing! Also they will look a lot more natural once they begin to grow out ❤
Absolutely it looks great let him live y’all dang.😂
As a Jamaican, I can say the locs looks nice on you Joe! The loctician did a great job!👏🏾👏🏾…..I’m sure as the style got older, the better it looked❤

Yes. Locs!
What a dope experience. Thank you for sharing !!
WoW. Amazing work and it looks really good Joe
I cannot get over how much I see Ajoui in Joe’s face. 😊 Also, the dreads are dope, I hope he keeps them for a while if they’re still in. I’m impressed at how knowledgeable the hairstylists were about different hair textures.
Joe, it looks great on you. And the fact that you wanted it to know how to take care of your children hair. Just makes it even nicer.
