- Another totally new group to us, the group is called XG, with their song "Left Right" and this was a very easy to listen to groove. We enjoyed this one.
Also, we know there were some minor audio issues with this one and we think we have that corrected for future videos. A video filmed after this did not have this issue.

XG are great. All members are frem Japan, they are based Korean, but all their songs are in English, outside of their mixtapes. They are a "global" pop group, or X-pop, which a lot of people are calling them.
Yes, specifying NOT being K-Pop. And they love to include everybody, so they even have choreographise that include sign language (and at least one actual full video that is ALL sign Language with their song).
Been a kpop fan for 15+ years since..Also a blinks,when I discovered XG I fell in love with them right away. They’re complete group consists of 4 rappers,7 vocalists and 7 dancers..Right now I put them #1 XG on my lists 2nd dreamcatcher,3rd G-Idle, 4th Everglow 5th Blackpink..This group is amazing you guys won’t be disappointed..thank you once again for reacting to our beloved Xtraordinary Girls

I'm with you, been a YG stan since BB and 2NE1 days and watched Blackpink's debut and their rise to global success. With Babymonster's anticipated debut I was to focused on them, I saw comments and thumbnails of XG but it never peaked my interest because I was focused more on BM. After defending BM's debut to disappointed fans and haters, I decided to watch XG's " Shooting Star" mv. 😮, then " Left, Right " mv 😮😮 #1. XG #2. Blackpink #3. (G)I-dle #4. Mamamoo #5. Red velvet #6. Everglow . XG has it, for my musical taste they are my top tier group and the production value, visuals and the their style/makeup are all on point. Kudos to their stylists and producer. So that's what the XG stands for, perfect name for IMO, a perfectly put together group. The Kpop girl groups better watch their backs, there's 7 Xtraordinary girls from Japan vying to give them a run for the top contender spot vs BP. Do they have fandom name ?
Glad you mentioned their style. XG are influenced heavily by the 90s, and have awesome looks in all their videos. They dip into a bunch of different genres, but this was their most R&B sounding song

Seven great voices, and it's so lovely to be able to understand the lyrics! The synchronised dancing particularly gave me Britney vibes, flashing back to the nineties... and that's no bad thing.

They are really famous for their synchronised dancing as well!
XG is just fun to listen to because they do a lot of oldies vibes. Their introductory video "XG tape xypher" give very old school rap/hiphop by the 4 rappers of the group. "left right" is definitely 90's RnB music video with the bad CGI and fish lens top down shots, it's awesome hahah

FINALLY, thanks Mr and Mrs. Coach! This group is hands down one of the best out, they're literally all-rounders. The rappers can sing, the singers can dance. Thats rare in K-pop lmao usually there's always one or two members better than the rest, not in this group!! 🔥

XG is the most talented group in whole K-pop
XG is short for "Xtraordinary Girls". As others have suggested already, to get a grip on the seven names, it'd be best to next watch XG Tape #2 with their four rappers (Jurin, Cocona, Harvey, Maya) and XG Vox #5 with the three vocalists (Chisa, Juria, Hinata) - all of them have a solo part in these. They all have very unique styles, and that's why it really should be all of the seven - the synergy they get from all their different styles is one of the things that make them unique as a group.
They mix English, Japanese and Korean in the pure rap tracks. Their main songs with all of them together are always in English only. And of these, "Shooting Star" which dropped at the same time as Left Right may be the right choice to react to next after the Tape and Vox ones.
Yeah, Shooting Star...I do like that one but I liked Left Right even better. BUT I always like to suggest starting from the beginning to get to see them (and their production team) improve over time to what they are now. :)

XG - Shooting Star is a must!!!
I don't consider them K-pop, since they're all Japanese, Japanese mix and sing in English on their official tracks.
However, they do have ties to K-pop as an industry. They're based out of SK, promote similar to K-pop artists and their Manager/producer/trainer, Simon, was in a K-pop group. They also speak Korean.
XG = Xtraordinary Girls

I think XG stands for xtraordinary girls, if I'm not mistaken.
And I'm right there with ya Coach, 7 more names is alot, especially when you're trying to learn names to other groups at the same time. I found it easiest to just learn the names of the members of my favorite groups first, then work my way down from there.

There is a group with 26! I think it's insane. But I promise XG is very recognizable after listening to their records because their styles are all pretty different once you hear more of their discography. You won't be forgetting their names if you listen to "Tape #2 GALZ XCypher" for a great introduction to the rappers, and "XG Vox #5" will introduce you to the singers in the group.
Their professional releases are all in English, and they mix in Korean and Japanese for their vocal and rap focused videos.

XG stands for XTRAORDINARY GIRLS. XG is Xpop a new genre concept by XGALX from AVEX JAPAN 🇯🇵. There are seven Japanese very talented young ladies who have went through extensive training. HINATA stood out she’s a vocalist in the group and is Japanese/Korean. All their songs are in ENGLISH. They RAP in English, Japanese and Korean. They are the future. Hinata (4:38) she's mixed with Japanese and Korean, she's the second oldest, she's a Main Dancer / Sub-Vocalist, she's also an amazing artist and love to draw!
Jurin (1:39 blue hat) the third oldest member also 21, she's the Leader / Lead Rapper / Main Dancer / Vocalist (Japanese) before debuting in XG she was a professional Snowboarder at the age of 12, has won many awards also really good at Surfing (Due to her dad who surfed) / Skateboarding, and a model by age 15,

I can't wait until you get to Quite possibly the most Iconic Girl group there is They are a 9 girl member group called twice. They literally do not know how to make a bad song or video. Although BlackPink is my all-time favourite girl group, XG and NewJeans (another great group you haven't checked out yet) are my top 2 “current” groups (not exclusive to just girl groups, but generally).
I didn't recommend you this group because I thought their “hip hop heavy” style of music might not be very pleasing to you. Regardless, your reactions were great again ❤️

XG is another very talented group that just isn't for me. Their music is great, but it seems aimed at a younger demographic, which, for me, is just about everyone. My preference is for smaller groups, and groups that have someone with a lower register, which adds a different dynamic. I know Coach's head has a lot of stuff in there already - he's full of it. ;)

Hi, I'm not sure I agree about the younger demographic. Out of all of the fandoms I've seen, XG has way more middle-aged fans. I've seen them live twice, so I've seen it personally. I am a 55 year old mom. Just some food for thought!

Sure, but you're not in my demographic - I'm much older than you. ;) When I mention demographics, I'm talking about the bulk of the fans. That doesn't mean that a group can't have a sizeable contingent of fans outside of that main demographic. It also doesn't mean that people who enjoy their music have to be from that main demographic. What it means is that their music is going to be mainly tailored to appeal to a certain age group, for instance. What it also means is that for people outside of that demographic, it will not appeal to the majority of them. This isn't saying that they're good or bad, it's just how the numbers work out. There are a lot of young people who are fans of The Rolling Stones or The Beatles, but that doesn't mean that that's their main demographic. And, that doesn't mean that they can't have an appeal outside of that demographic.
I worked in marketing, and demographics are a key factor in setting up a campaign, so I've lived on that "food for thought". ;) When I say something like this, it's not, in any way, meant to be detrimental, it's just an assessment. It also doesn't mean that they're confined to that demographic.

@mikkj1 I understand what you are saying. I just see a lot more older folks at XG shows than is normal for "kpop" concerts. With the exception of BTS - I actually met a 90 grandma at a BTS show in Vegas last April . Her bias is V. Plus, there were older folks in wheelchairs!! I think it's great when multiple age groups can get together in support of a group, whether it's Kpop or the Rolling Stones!!
I don't care what anyone says. YG's Babymonster, HYBE's Dream Academy, and JYP's VCHA are all copycat of XG. PERIOD!
We like to enjoy each group for their uniqueness and not compare. All the ladies from every group work very hard.
