Just imagining going to the first day of school in a vinyl skirt set with thick tights and sweating majorly because it’s still September and hasn’t gotten cold…I can practically hear the sound of unsticking the skirt from the seat of one of those hard school chairs 🪠

OMG, I started getting American Girl stuff in the mid 90s and I had SO many things from this catalogue!! One thing I have no memory of, however, is those painted backgrounds.

Wow, I remember this TOO well 😂 I must have looked at this literally ten thousand times. Every morning eating cereal. And I see why!! Ugh it’s so cute lol. I was 8, and this must have been the year I received Molly for Christmas. I was fooled by the photos of the hair curlers… I totally ruined Molly’s hair 😂 My sister had Kirsten and she still looks perfect. I remember wanting to send her to their “doll hospital” so she could get new hair but my mom said no haha. I’m pretty sure it was really expensive!

Those doll hair curlers are too tempting... probably a sneaky way to push doll hospital traffic.

If you're near nj, come visit my huge AG doll studio- I've almost collected one of every single doll AG has ever made and I have that giant beautiful book of backgrounds! I got it recently from a kids consignment sale for $12 I was beside myself!

Okay so I never had specific AG cosplay items but I did play a loooooot of dress up with my friends. Due to the popularity of A Little Princess and the Secret Garden movies, we always tried to dress like we were girls from Victorian era lol.
