Is This the End Times? Is 'Hamas' in the Bible? Messianic Rabbi on Israel, Terror, Prophecy

- Rabbi Jason Sobel, a Messianic Jewish leader, recently discussed the complex issues surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the evils at the core of Hamas' attack on Israel. Sobel, author of "Signs and Secrets of the Messiah: A Fresh Look at the Miracles of Jesus," provided insight into the historical context of the conflict, the spiritual implications, and some of the prophetic elements at play.
"The birth of Israel is a modern-day miracle and ... some of how that miracle came about [was] against all odds," he said. "God is a supernatural God, and in every generation there has risen up a Hitler or a Haman to destroy the Jewish people, yet God has preserved them because he's the God of the miraculous." Sobel looked to prophecies in the Bible that seem to point to some of what we see unfolding today, including Iran's anti-Jewish rhetoric and attempts to expel Israel from the face of the Earth. While he said the current crisis isn't necessarily evidence we've reached the end, the events taking shape seem noteworthy.
"Is this the end?" he said. "I'm not saying that, but what I'm saying: it is a sneak preview to the direction the world is heading." The faith leader also discussed the overarching concern the Hamas attack has created among Jewish people who are experiencing the same fears and worries they had during the horrors of the Holocaust.
"As someone who's lost most of his family in the Holocaust, the barbarity and the atrocities of what Hamas did echoes back to that and opens up that trauma and concern for many Israelis and Jews around the world," Sobel said. The faith leader said he believes hatred directed at the Jewish people has political elements, but that it's predominately spiritual in nature.
"There is a political side to this," he said. "The reality: the root of this is spiritual, and that's what we need to understand first and foremost, because you can't solve ... a spiritual issue with political means." Sobel also said the word "hamas" is in the Bible a number of times, noting it first appears in Genesis 6:11. "It says, 'And in the days of Noah, God saw that the world was filled with violence.' Hamas, the word for violence. ... And God was grieved, and He ultimately brought the flood on the world because of hamas. And Jesus himself said [in Matthew 24], 'As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man.'" Watch Sobel explain the history.

I felt very restless right from Saturday the 7th, then on Sunday I came across a call by Nigerian man of God to join in three (3) days fasting and praying for peace in the Holy land. Though I did not zoom in to join in the united prayer I did fast and prayed from Monday the 9th to Wednesday 11th October 23 and I became relieved of the restlessness and panic feeling. I have since been emphasising that the conflict is more spiritual than physical (political) and the Jews need to really prayerfully🛐🛐 examine the Bible as a whole(both Old and New Testaments) affirm, accept and believe ✝️Jesus Christ as thepromised Messiah and expect His second coming before it is late. AMEN and AMEN 🙏

You really misunderstand the prophecies. The world will end in 2852. It is just Israel that will end as state this - next year. It's done, its finished. People must evacuate from there ASAP to save their lives. However this is not the end of Israelites. Rabbi, thank you for your insight and explanations. With the television on the war news most of the day, I have been reading the Bible, mostly the Book of Psalms. As you were talking, I went to each Bible book and chapter to insure that I understood the importance of what you were saying. Reading passages which seem to prophesy the hatred and horror of the past 2 weeks, gives no comfort. My prayers are that God will show the world that the Israelis are still "the apple of (His) eye".

I actually had a dream about Esau and woke up not realizing the biblical significance to Esau that leads to Amelek. That dream was a month ago in Sept. As a Christian, I know that love conquers all, and the most powerful thing is the conviction of sin. This happens with prayer first. And God can move supernaturally when Christians bind the works of darkness, and loose the power of the Holy Spirit for the conviction of sin. A lot of us have seen former terrorists tell their testimony of how Jesus supernaturally appeared to them in a dream or a vision. Their lives are changed, but it begins with the conviction of sin under the presence of God. Love conquers all. Love cannot be murdered. There is no law against love. Love always wins. People owe it to themselves to educate themselves on Israel and it's history. It is pivotal to an understanding of the world as a whole, particularly in extremely volatile times such as now. As we are all seeing a lack of knowledge in this regard can lead to the naive supporting the terrorists who if they had their way would have these very people on their knees.

God blessed me with a trip to Israel and as much as I loved it at the time now I know why He blessed me with that trip. We stayed with an Arab Christian who ministered to Muslims. I saw the truth about Israel. Peace and the ability for prosperity for all! Now I get to tell people who may be being swayed by the propaganda out there that says they are apartheid. which I have! Stand strong for Israel!

Amazing that these protests and gross biases against Israel are coming largely from academia/universities. My dad was a professor in the sixties and early seventies. He worked in the Philosophy and Religion department. We had Sunday Bible studies with some of his colleagues every week. In other words, that recently, academia was NOT anti-Jewish or anti-Christian.
