These were the times!!!! I have this and the behind the scenes of this tour on VHS. Such an awesome time to be young. This was right before Aaliyah passed and right before September 11th. I remember after all that tragedy happened I remember just thinking how that was the last summer before the world changed for what seems like forever.

We had a sign that said "I beat Chops to get here" to rub it in 😂. It was a long time ago but if I remember right it was towards the end of the show the camera crew was recording some girls with signs outside saying "We love you Carson" and right then my friend pushes them out the way and gets our sign on live lol. We used to have the tape but it was so long ago IDK what happened to it.

I was 11 at the time. My mom took me to the concert when that tour came to our hometown. She was a bit embarrassed to be one of the only people her age at the show, and she wasn't too big on the music of the time. However, she gained a lot of respect for Destiny's Child for things that most of the fans there weren't too happy about. They talked about a recent sexual abuse incident that had been in the news, and they performed a traditional gospel song (to be honest, I don't think it was that traditional a song; if my memory is correct, it was "Proud Mary"). Those moments stood out for my mom and gained them her admiration. Most of the fans didn't know how to react. They weren't going to boo Destiny's Child, but that wasn't what they were expecting. My mom also gained a lot of respect for Nelly and the Saint Lunatics, but for a weird reason. My parents met through a type of English folk dancing called morris dancing, and one of the Saint Lunatics who didn't sing or rap felt deeply reminiscent of a part of morris dance culture.

But now that you point it out and I watch it back, Eve literally looked like she was there just for a check.
